My muscle keep cramping up .physeo told me it's all in my head but another doctor took bloods to see if it's artherits. My daughters doctor saw my hands and said looks like rhumitiod and fibrositis. I feel no 1 believes me other than my husband and kids that are picking up the pieces of my problems can any tell what is wrong with me. im not unfit on a good day I can do loads on a bad day wiping my bum feels like too much of an effort please help

Its not in your head Rachel. Everyone on this forum will support that. So many people with fibro are told its not real, its all imagined. Why would ANYONE imagine being like this? smile I think you need to see a different doctor and/or ask to be referred to a consultant. Doctors cant refuse to refer you if you insist, they dont like doing it becuase I think it costs the practice, but you can insist on seeing a rhuematologist. It may still be a lengthy process to get a diagnosis but at least youll be on the way to getting one. Also make a day to day list of symptoms, including how you feel for the consultant to look at. The last thing you need when you are this ill is an unsympathetic doctor, change him!

I'm only 44 with 3 young children that don't under stand what's going on but there ready to help there only 8 11 12 .its stopping me doing family activitys with them there missing out on so much because of me.its heartbreaking

I've had a similar experience after injuring my neck I have three prolapsed discs but I have pain everywhere.

It has been diagnosed now as fibromyalgia so take a look into this. There is a great forum on this site for this condition.

hope you find a way for some relief soon

Feeling for you Rachel, be strong...if you can...I have arthritis too along with Fibro and ot her issue..you should never feel that it's in your head..it takes ages so times for  the medical profession to know what we are suffering from..then it's getting the meds right.....I get very swollen and sore in places due to arthritist times too, it's horrid, I feel like I've been run over by a semitrailer....do hope they get you sorted soon......no wonder we get depressed and anxious. Just remember you are not alone in this..,,be blessed..:-)  Australia

ps..lots of hot water bottles eveywhere it hurts, are a real help, but you probably know this,,

    Hello Rachel,

My heart goes out to you, you are putting up with so much. I think we all go through that barrage of tests, and no-one believing there is anything wrong. That is the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, a process of elimination. If you don't have a sympathetic GP please find another one. You don't mention the fatigue and tiredness, which I think is a key element of Fibro. Glad to hear you have such a supportive husband, that is great. good luck

    Take care, Anne
