So happy with my new physio!

Hello my fellow hippies
I am so so so happy today because of my new physio. I've had 2 previous knee replacements on the same leg so it's all quite complex. She took about 10 minutes to look at the 4 sets of Xrays I brought along and then explained I have a congenital deformity in my hips and it would make walking and sport difficult. I could have wept with relief. Ever since I was 4 years old I was aware something was wrong, but no one has ever taken the time to look beyond the affected joint. I have been looking for someone like her for 30 years.
Now I feel she can really help me, and understands my knee will be my main problem. She's given me 3 non generic exercises and I am so motivated to work slowly but surely. She doesn't want the exercises to cause pain because pain sets up more inflammation which impedes healing. So sensible and true to my previous experiences.
Because of my knee issues I have been pessimistic about the long term outcome of my mobility. Having found an excellent practioner I now have hope that I can achieve the best outcome for my particular situation. And did I say that I'm so so happy!
I just wanted to share my overwhelming joy with you my fellow hippies!

Thank you for sharing your joy and I am so happy for you. It must be wonderful after all these years that what you had always suspected was correct. I think as has been said so many times we know are bodies and what doesnt feel right. But when the professionals didnt find anything Im sure you must have questioned your own feelings.
Its just the beginning best of luck to you Im looking forward to hearing about your progress.
Love and hugs

O happy days ... I am so happy for you - I wish that there were more of those practioners instead of one size fits all therapy -
i have always believed that there is no gain in pain after THr surgery - got so tired of always arguing with my young (and sweet) physical therapist -Â
please keep posting about your progress with the exercises .
big warm hug

physios, glad you've got a gem.
are you still using 1 crutch? I tried this morning,
just in the house, but my husband says I am leaning
on it.Â

Yes the physio definitely wants me to keep using my crutch. She also said to take short steps and to make sure I go heel then toe. I have tended to be flat footed, especially when I'm limping without a crutch.

It's been helpful to think through this and articulate it as a goal. I thought I'd be off the stick now at over 5 weeks, but I'm ok with it if I end up walking properly.
