So few days ago i posted my picture asking ppl here if what i have are genital warts. So now ive visited my OB and got a second opinion from another OB. It was confirmed that i have genital warts. I'm thinking i got it from the guy i met few months ago. Im not so sure but he's the last person i had sex with. i dont wanna put blame anyways. Now Im scared, i havent talked to my parents about this. How do you guys handle it? Im super scared right now. I dont know how to tell anyone about my situation sad And the judgement im gonna get from my peers and relatives.

I had genital warts about 11 years ago.

Firstly if you still have his contact details and get in touch wit the guy. Rather than playing the blame game, just tell him: You have warts, he was the last person you had sex with and he should get himself checked. He may not even realise he has them.

Second you don't owe any explanation to friends and relatives. it's none of their business, so don't tell them.

The only people you do owe an explanation to are future sexual partners. They need to know before you have sex.

Get the warts you have now treated and then check yourself regularly for any new warts.

I had my first wart frozen off by the clinic. a few months later I had a couple of outbreaks of 2-3 warts which I burnt off with cream.

I havn't had any problem since.

You can get through this. Keep your head up but act responsibly.

Have you had any outbreaks this past years? what cream do you used to burn off the warts?

Touch wood, I haven't had any outbreaks for several years now so I'm hoping I wont have any more. The cream I used was called Warticon. I believe it's prescription only in the UK. The clinic gave it to me. It was a bit of a faff to use but did the trick.

Hi Aine, I'm sorry you're going through this but reading the comments people have left with the same experience hopefully offers you some relief. I went through a panic a few years ago after sleeping with a guy who had a herpes outbreak years prior (he didn't tell me until after we slept together!). I talked to my mum about it because I was so upset that I could possibly have got it. She told me she has HPV. She got it when she was a teenager but has not had an outbreak since and went on to have 4 children. It is not the end smile
