So I guess I'm not alone...

I've done so much reading of these types of discussions, but finally compelled to join in.  On New Year's Eve, I had 2 abscesses and part of my Bartholin's removed.  I had swelling in the area that doctors couldn't diagnose.  First, they tried antibiotics, then they tried lancing, and nothing worked.  Finally, they decided to surgically remove it.

It's been just over 2 weeks, and I had my post-op appointment Tuesday which revealed that part of my incision is opening, although the tissue looks good.  She recommended that I do Neosporin twice a day and ice packs after I get home from work.  It is still painful and I've exhausted just about all my Percocet which is the only thing that gives me any relief.  With the stitches, I can't do any soaks, so I've been searching the internet for anything that has worked for anyone.

It's starting to affect me emotionally as I can't exercise, I don't feel like myself, and I'm uncomfortable.  I teach school and have had to wear a skirt every day, and low and behold I hadddd to start my period which was excrutiating.  My period is over and the draining has stopped, so I'm not wearing underwear because even slight contact with it just makes me cringe.  I feel like I should probably rest, but writing sub plans is worse than just going in and doing my job, and I just can't sit here and do nothing.  It makes me focus on it even more.

As far as the actual surgery, the whole process actually wasn't as bad as I expected.  I was under for the surgery, but the aftermath of it wasn't completely terrible.  When they tried draining it, that devil shot and then having 2 incisions and no pain medicine afterwards was absolutely horrific. I prepared myself for this to be worse, but it didn't come close.  I guess I just expected a faster healing, and I'm just ready to get back to normal.

While I empathize with everyone going through this, I'm happy to know I'm not alone.  Sending light, love, and healing energy to you all!
