So I saw my cardiologist...

I had my first appointment with a cardiologist yesterday morning and I gave him all my symptoms - the panic attacks I’ve had for over a decade, the heart palpitations and feeling short of breath at times, the dizziness. He listened to my heart and said I have mitral valve prolapse and he says he is totally confident. I am having an echo next Thursday to confirm and I’m so scared they will find something else like maybe heart disease or that my valve needs to be replaced (my mind is reeling).
My cardiologist acted like MVP is very common and no big deal. He said it’s very rare people need surgery or have complications from it but I’m still nervous.
Has anyone had an echo? I’ve had 3 normal EKGs and chest X-rays. What should I expect?
Thanks!

It's easy. Non invasive. I have MVP too. I'm 70. So far so good.
