So I’ve just found out I have type 2 gential Herpes and am going through my first outbreak, it’s been extremely painful. I’ve been prescribed with Apo-Valaciclovir to take one twice a day and I’m up to day 3 and feels like I’ve had no change at all? How long do these outbreaks roughly last for? I’m also having to take doxycycline once daily aswell. My vagina is extremely swollen, it burns to pee and there’s a lot of discharge. It’s hurt to move or do anything, I have to knock myself out all day and night just to deal with the pain.

Same for me I just found out I had it my out break is gone now but I was prescribed acyclovir to take 3x a day I think they were 400mg it took about a week for the bump to go down and the pain to ease. When you pee get a cup of warm water to pour down there as you pee. As far the bump get a small piece of gauze cover it in Vaseline and place it over the bump or if you don't have that I folded a panty liner in half. If it's oozing the Vaseline will help the gauze from sticking to the bump. I used to gauze to help prevent friction it helped tremendously. Hopefully if you try what I suggested it works for you

My tablets are 500mg and I have to take once twice a day but they don’t feel to be working?

I’m not even sure if I have any bumps it’s jist that my vagina is seriously so swollen I can’t even move or sit up, I have to lay constantly to try and deal with the pain. I take baths like 2-3 times a day with espon salts aswell and I’m on day 3 on this out break it the pain is seriously so unbearable I just cry everytime I’m awake

With me it took about 5 days before I noticed a change.. Try an ice pack down there for the swelling and if there is a bump the ice will help numb it too.. I wasn't able to do it because of work but I highly recommend bed rest during an outbreak the pain was terrible. All I had was ibuprofen but not too many pain killers work because the virus is in the nerves

Girllll I don’t know how you went to work like that, I’ve had to call in sick, I can’t even stand properly let alone walk around or sit comfortably, I’ve been having plenty of bed rest! Yep I just tried the ice pack down there, kinda feels weird but anyways gotta do what you gotta do.  Only painkillers I’ve been taking was really strong codeine to knock me out so I’d be out of pain, but I’ve tried taking ibuprofen tonight, hopefully that works
