So lethargic and unproductive

Hi so I've kind of always had this problem. Every day is a struggle to get at least a few things done. I start out with dishes or tiding up and by the time I've taken a break from that, mopping the floor or simple house cleaning seems impossible. I'm 28 but I get really lethargic at the end of the day and can hardly get up to brush my teeth for the night. I've tried energy supplements but I just get used to them and they don't work anymore. I'm not to sure if it's my diet, I try to eat as much fruits and vegetables as possible but it's hard when your friends keep bringing burritos and making pasta. I don't take any drugs, just the occasional beer which I am making a huge effort to cut down on. Why am I always so tired.

Hi Mooncat.    Do you have a job?    or are you maybe a full time Mum?/Dad?   You sound very bored with life in general. Are you overweight?  Do you have any hobbies?

No I'm actually getting social security because of a disability. I'm not really bored as I have my favorite video games and religious studies to keep life interesting. No I'm not overweight.. well for my body type and metabolism I could stand to lose about 8 pounds. Because of my disability I'm limited to my bed most of the day. Aside from walking, sitting and most physical activities for extended amounts of time cause intolerable pain.

Have you spoken to your doctor about this? Ask for a blood test to check. Could be a number of things; thyroid, vitamin deficiency, low iron levels etc. Don’t worry, I’m sure everything is fine, but there could be an underlying cause for your fatigue.

I have to get my medi-cal transfered. I take whole food vitamins. My friend said it could be iron which makes sense because when I eat a rare steak I have energy for 3 days.
