so many things hurting, tests all clear

Sorry for being such a hypocondriac but I am at my wits end. I am a 56 year old menopausal female living in UK. I have GERD and diverticular disease so lots of stomach type problems. SInce a virul infection in January I have had so many trips to to GP nothing is showing but still in great discomfort.

Chest pains - all tests clear, ECG, Stress Test, CT Angiogram - heart healthy and also chest X ray shows lungs healthy.

Pain between breasts into ribs and along ribs where bra sits - ultra sound scan yesterday shows no kidney stones, no gall stones, no liver problems nothing at all to worry about, but while it was being done the pain around ribs was incredible and today am in agony between breasts and rib area where pressed. It feels like a foot wide belt has been put aound my chest and pulled.

All blood tests including LFT and CRP clear showing no infection or liver problems.

Several urine tests clear although urine dark and smells a bit

Just had first diverticular flair up since diagnosis last October so do accept some of the symptons could be that. Some of the symptoms could also be feflux related but this is just not going away.

I have arthritis in neck and was told some of the pain could be arthritis starting in chest or costocondritis.

The reason for this post is that today I sat at work and the pain just above my belly button and lower left side is agony, I was convinced something was going to burst, could it just all be wind which I have a bit of following flair up, would it really be this painful.

Sorry to be so dramatic but now convinced it must be stomach cancer, GP laughs and said as bloods etc ok, not likely, also not being sick or even feeling sick or bleeding from anywhere or losing weight. But GP never does complete bloods only full which I know is different.

I am not looking forward to going back to GP for full scan results as she will only say nothing itswrong, the next test is H Pylori, but would that be painful.

I am trying to pull myself together and accept negative tests results are good but this constant pain is getting me down.

Any constructive replies grealty appreciated.

    Hi,

Strange question for you do you have bad night sweets, sometimes during the day,or all the time? Have you dad the camera treatment, ie camera down throat and up rear end? Why I'm asking as my mumwas telling me about a doctor on tv. As iim really hot n sweaty badly, that's beside the point, not why I'm asking. It just sounded a little similar. I wont say what cause these symptoms. May not be yours. Apart from pain stomach pain on left hand side.

Hope to here from you x

Yes, i do have night and day sweats and I know it can blood cancer, did ask that but was told bloods too good. You have worried me though not saying what it is? Have had camera up rear which showed divertucular, but GP won't do one down throat as had one 6 years ago. The pain is not always on left side it moves around and it quite often central or right.

hey try not to worry based on your smytpoms i don't think you have stomach cancer otherwise ive had stomach cancer sense i was 15 :P,

I assume your doctor has ran a full electrolyte blood test( calcium, pottassium, magnesium) to determine if the cause of chest pain is related to potassium.

(highly recomnd he does if he hasnt)

you mention your symptoms got worse after a viral infection however sense the virus has now cleard it is posb that it disturbed your good/bad bacteria in your body and made it off balance.

I recomnd trying a probiotic, i myself drink a glass of kefir every now and then and it helps a lot with my gerd, also if your gerd dosnt improve with antacids it is posb your gerd could be caused by lack of stomach acid, inwhich you should try and drink a spoonfull of applecider viger in water and see if it goes away.

For digestive issues i recomd trying a tea composed of honey cinnamon and small ammounts of cayanne pepper, aswell as tumeric. it may help your diverticulits however if it gets worse then just drink the cinnamon and honey.

Thanks, I am going into town tommorrow to get some probiotics as have just finished more anti b's for diverticular so that is probably not helping. I have been like this since first diagnosed with IBS at like you 15, but just getting a bit worse. No I have not been tested for potassium etc just told by GP my PPI's could cause it, so will ask in health shop about those as well. Thanks

Hi I didn't mean to worry you, the pain moves so don't worry. Do you have medicine. For the diverticular. Some times its something as simple as low salt, or could be allergic to gluton.

I didn't think for one minute blood cancer.

Holland and Barret did blood tests for this, you go get the blood taken at docs and it is then sent away. Don't know if they still do it, but look on line.

Or to put your mind at rest have a private consaltaion with a doctor sounds expensive, I think its about £60 so not that bad.

Acupuncture could help to. There are so many things to try.

A doc on telly suspected he had celliac disease, it took him ages to get diagnosis. He felt written all the while, kept going to the loo etc. If this is a doctor not being diagnosed straightway it just shows sometimes things aren't always straightforward in getting a diagnosis.

you def need to get your pottassium checked, both to high or to low potassium and cause severe cardiac arthimas, which can cause chest pain. you should also have blood pressure checked as your hormones could be making you worry a lot which could lead to high blood pressure which can also cause your chest pain.

Hi not had potassium checked, will ask GP next time I go, she did say PPI's could lower magnesium so I am taking them. Will look at upping my potassium before then as well just in case. I will check what causing low or high as well. Would either may you feel sort of shaky?

Hi, I have really bads sweats sometimes and looked it up hence the blood cancer mention, but GP thinks it is hormonal and some people have these sweats into their 80's. My friend asked me to check whether they get worse at certain times of the month and I have noticed they do so I think it is just menopause. I am wondering about coeliac as my bowel habits have changed around meals, I am also getting moving pains following food, not sickness or blood anywhere just strange pains all over. You mention low salt, I do not add salt to any food and sometimes crave a packet of crisps and have often thought I must need the salt. Will be going into H&B today to see what they do for me. Take care

H pylori is bloodtest. Have you seen a specialist or only your gp. A gastroenterologist might be a better idea and they have more knowledge with your stomach, liver..gallbladder..

Hi, are you in UK, if so does your GP have to refer you to gastroenterlogist as my GP seems to be ordering all sorts of tests withouth really knowing what is going on and not referring me on. She did ask why I had not had H pylori so will ask about that. I am getting a bit paranoid about keep going, but I need to feel normal again.

Just a thought - Low Cortisol can cause loads of symptoms, including sweats, abdo and pain in the chest area and shakiness, plus lots more.

I only say this because I had my level checked recently and it was 'right at the bottom end of low'. When I researched the symptoms of this, I was amazed to find so many and I seemed to have most of them! I've got an appt soon with a Consultant Endocrinologist, to investigate.

Docs only seem to go down one avenue at a time, rather than looking at a few things at once. I guess this is why a holistic approach is so good.

It might be worth asking your GP to do the simple blood test to check your level, if you haven't had this done already.....just an idea.

Good luck and I hope you get some answers soon

      Plodding on
