please any dr or nurse I need some info ASAP , on weds I had a vulvar biopsy and a scrapping , the dr took about 3 inches of tissues . I have been in excruciating pain since , my abdomen is so swollen , I have to urinate uncontrollably every half hour , the pain to urinate is like no other pain I have ever felt . I have been crying for four days , pain and burning not getting any better . I went thru a 50 count bottle of Advil , which does not even work . My dr says I don't need an antibiotic , but I think I do . She said it will take a while to heal but honestly I can't take another minute . And have not slept , in pain and def can't sit unless it's on the toilet. She did not advise anything I can use to heal faster and anything for pain.heavier pain meds is not an option for me !!! Please an one ' so desperate .

Hi Donna sorry you are in so much pain, I am not a doctor and so I can only offer suggestions.  If you are in so much pain and Advil is not working I think I would get myself down to the ER immediately, as they would be able to give you something for the pain and then you would get another opinion as well with regards to the antibiotics or not.

Donna, I meant to say, have you tried sitting in a salt water bath, that may help.   But really I think its appalling that your doctor was not prepared to listen to you, and having to urinate so often does not sound right to me at all.

Please let us know how you get on.

Thank u if things don't get better I will have to call her again or go to E R , I'm trying not to go there . I think the salt water will really put me over the edge When I urinate I have to use the spray bottle to ease the pain . Sincerely donna

Hi Donna , sorry your suffering so badly , sounds to me like you have a water infection thats needs antibiotics now ! I had a biopsy and did not wash the area for 24 hrs then very gently using only water for 3 days after that l washed gently with aqueous cream l also applied a little vaseline after 3 days , no steroid ointment for 3 months to let the skim have time to heal itself , the biopsy cleans the area and healing is quite quick , thinl of childbirth , how fast it heals then , this is similar . You can use the steroid again when everything as healed up , a tiny amount only on affected area not healthy skin . Your maim aim is to get the water infection cured

.Ring 111 if your in England they are very good and will help you . Abroad go to your A&E dont delay . Your docter sounds horrid ,docters dont seem to have any sympathy for UTI,s or LS . I know how you feel lve been there, l hope l have been able to help a little , good luck xxx

I called her yesterday she said its a waiting game !!!

This is only my opinion , but if you keep wetting the area every half hour or so every time you pass water , how can you ever heal ? Your wounds are wet they will never get the chance to knit together . The advice l gave you was what my consultant told me to do and it worked , it was painful at first , sitting down was a nightmare but after a week or so things were much better. The vaseline forms a barrier and keeps the urine off the skin without stopping the healing process. But all this will not cure a U T I you need to know if its an infection or the effects of the biopsy . Find out whats causing the pain and then you can fight it , its no good guessing , its too painful an option. I hope you work things out , take care x

Thank u very much , I will prob stop with the water , I'm too afraid to apply anything at this point , anything would prob make matters worse !!!

Donna, I think stopping with the water does make sense.  I recently had a terrible sore area near my vagina and after bathing I used a hairdryer on a cool setting to ensure it was completely dry, and then I left it for a quite some time before I applied anything to it, and it seemed to help and healed up quite quickly.
