Ok so here I am going mad with fear and googly everything. I am scared I will have a stroke or a heart attack from worrying. I started bleeding 3 days after using monistat. I am 59. My period left when I was 56 and I haven't seen no blood since until like 5 days ago. I got concerned I went to the doctor and they send me to the GYN. I got an ultrasound showed that my lining was 6 millimeters. They schedule a test for me in the hospital to go in with a camera and look for abnormalities. that's in two weeks. I keep thinking such negative thoughts mine Tech that did the ultrasound kept telling me that I was going to be fine that everything looked fine but she didn't tell me I was six millimeters. I can't eat or sleep I'm going mad thank you for listening to me it's good to have strangers out there reaching to each other

When I went in, I was measured at 11 cm. My lining is slightly thicker than that of someone that still has a menstrual cycle as I do not shed the uterine lining.

So hard to not let your thoughts wander. I was a mess...couldn't sleep, eat, concentrate. I began the process of figuring out who gets what, in the event that I passed away. Oi vey...worrier I am.

I know, you have probably been told...stay off WebMD, positive thoughts, take notes on any changes between appointments and write down any questions you want to ask...I had a list, not kidding!!!

Keep us up to date and try to stay positive.

I had a 33 day period in December I've had 2 scans at my surgery   Which showed either a polyps or fibroid but my dr not sure. I got transferred to hospital for a womb biopsy, my sister had a sarcoma 10 yrs ago at the age of 35. I'm petrified I've got cancer and I've got to wait 2 weeks for results, I can't believe it takes this long. I hope you have a positive outcome x

    Hello...

I'm 51 still have regular and irregular periods.. lots of perimenopausal things going on! My bloodwork was good but had a pap come back with thickening uterus. Did a biopsy and stressed for a week also using google and seeing scary things... my results were benign cells in the uterus and 1 low grade cell in the cervix and my Dr. Said that low grade cell could be flushed away on its own so will do another pap in 6 months to see if it's gone. She told me if it was a high grade cell it would probably require surgery. I am totally okay with having a hysterectomy! It's hard and natural to not stress while waiting for results... I was never alone as I talked to God regularly feeling fine to dread within minutes! He showed me signs I couldn't ignore and he will do the same for you! Even though I'm superstitious and was on a roller coaster ride of emotions....God is Good! I feel for and will pray for anyone going through this!

    God Bless

    Hi everyone.

Im 65 and started bleeding a month ago

Went to ER but they said I had a uti, gave antibiotics, cleared up but bleeding again. Back to er. I made them ck this time to see if blood was coing from vaginal area. Yes it was but i also had a recurring uti.

They did an ultra sound, internal and found a thick uterline lining and a fluid filled cyst on one ovary. To say im scared is an understatement. I cant be dealing with. Cancer. Im raising my 22 mo old grdaughter. She needs me. Im about to flip out.

Im calling in the morning to see how fast i can be seen. I google everything too so im petrified.

So sorry that you are going through this!  Did they tell you how thick your lining was?  I hope you can get into doctor quickly!

      Hi Marianne,

First of all take a deep breath!

Thickening of the lining in the uterus is quite common and is generally NOT cancer.

I went through exactly what you are going through at the start of the year and was convinced I had cancer too. I had an ultrasound that showed thickening of the lining and I bled quite heavily for three months without a break. Eventually they took me in for a D&C and hysteroscopy (and took biopsies as a matter of course) and everything was normal. It was all hormonal and medication (HRT) put it right within days. I was already on HRT but apparently the dose was wrong.

When they told me everything was normal and I started crying with relief they told me that the majority of cases have very simple and easy to fix causes and that, even if they had found something it would have been treatable with a hysterectomy as I acted so soon.

I googled everything too and it's not the best idea, but I know that none of us can help doing it.

Please don't worry - you will be just fine.

Keep us updated and if you need a good listening ear (or lots of good listening ears) just come on here whenever you need us.

Something similar happened to my older sister.  Her lining was thickened but not too much and she had bleeding after a long time with no bleeding. It turned out to be nothing which was a great relief. She is a bit overweight but in her 50s.  It was all very scary!  I hope you get some answers soon.

My gyn did a biopsy today. Omg, so painful. She said my endometerial lining was twice as thick as it should be. So of course I freaked out all the more since I think my chances of cancer are greater. I cried the whole time I was in the room, felt ridiculous but I dont hv time for cancer. Im raising my 22 mo old grandbaby. I hv to be here for her sake or she will be placed in foster care.

Still shaking and wont know for a week, maybe longer.
