Hi I am 53 hadn't had a period for over a year then started bleeding on Monday, went straight to doctors had ultrasound the next day no cysts or fibroids discovered then had call today to go to see GP who informed me I have thickening of the lining of the womb, so have to have more tests, :-( I am so afraid it's cancer especially with the speed the tests etc have been happening, blood tests were ok, doctor said I will have a diagnosis within two weeks, I am absolutely petrified, not coping at all, I do suffer with very bad anxiety too:-(

Hi I am going through basicly the same thing 2 days ago I started spotting , I am 63 soon to be 64 in a month my last period was when I was 57. I had an ultra sound done and the Dr called said it was thicker then it should be but everything looked good on the outside of the uterus. Next Thursday I go for a biopsy . I am scared to death, I have so much anxiety can't sleep eat its horrible. Every little pain I have I think is cancer, whether it's in my shoulder back, rib, stomach, I have myself on my way out. I have back issues anyway but before what i accepted as just my back now i think cancer. Been trying to shut my brain down but it just doesnt want to happen. My Mother fied of uterine cancrr but she waited a very long time before she went yo a dr. Her mother also had it but made it through and lived many years after and never had cancer again. I like Marianne have responabilities, our son who is 36 and has cerebral palsy and severe autism lives at home with us. Honestly I have such terrible anxiety and just need to talk with people who can relate. Honestly the internet scares the crap out of me on this subject this place seems so much better.

      Hi Suzan,

I hope that you have some good news,  and yes I can identify  totally with the worry of waiting,  and of the aches and pains post biopsy.

Before my biopsy i do not think i had any worth mentioning, but now I have abdominal crampy pain, aches, and twinges in many other places, back, side, chest - and I am not usually a hypochondriac kind of person

Not sleeping properly is also making me feel very down.

I got my results a week after the biopsy and they  revealed EC Grade 2 so I am now waiting for an MRI and chest xray, and a consultants appointment, none of which i expected at 60 years of age. I felt well!!

I am trying to stay positive and take it one step at a time,  but  the waiting is beyond horrible, so my thoughts are with you.

I hope you hear something soon

Last week i had a cervical biopsy as i learned i had hpv 18 with mild dysplasia. I am 53 and in menopause for 3yrs. I mentioned to my Dr. that i occasionally spot after sex so he sent me for vag ultrasound yesterday. Just called and cervicaal biopsy is normal and he doesnt know why there is dysplasia. He said my US showed 7mm uterine thickening. He has scheduled a D&C so he can also get better look at cervix as well.

Years ago i suffered infertility w/3 miscarriages. I found out(through my own efforts) i had a progesterone inbalance and needed suppliments to sustain pregnancy. Im angry that my levels havent been tested since i was 33. I was also on fertility med clomid for longer than advised. Now im really concerned and have to wait 3weeks for D & C. My last D&C was for a miscarriage and it was awful.

I got a phone call this morning and found out that my uterine wall is thick so I go in on 3/12/18 to have a biopsy done. Then I'll have to wait for the results.

Hi Tammy. How did the biopsy go? Hopefully all good. I'm waiting for my report also. I'd like to know what you are doing for treatment next.

Twice I had two tiny spots of blood, months apart. After 2nd time had internal sonogram, have polyp and slight thickening of uterious. Had D & C two days ago get results on Thursday. My Concierge Doc said if it was anything, so early could be taken care of. D&C done by oncologist. I wasn’t going to look up the subject but now I’m really nervous. My husband passed away one month after being diagnosed with leukemia 19 months ago. LSS I had brain surgery 4 months after he passed, everything is ok for now but don’t know how I’m going to hold up if I get bad news.

      Dear Jean,

I hope you are faring ok, and that you have now got some answers and some peace of mind. Hopefully there is a treatment plan to remedy the symptoms and your life can get back to normal..

Having read far too many articles and posts on this, and other forums, I can only say that I very much identify with your feelings and symptoms, and worrying is awful, but I am sure you will get through it, as you have already got through so much.

I am in a very similar situation.  I had a couple of small spots of blood a couple of months apart, called my doctor who didn't even offer me an appointment, Instead they did a couple of blood tests ( which i now know were for anaemia and kidney function!) and these were ok, so there was no further action.

Three months later, a bit more blood, so an urgent appointment at the hospital... I gritted my teeth and the scan revealed a very thick lining and a polyp, that she said did not look good. Bits of the lining and hte polpy were sent off for analysis, so I now have to wait for the results.

Despite reading a lot before the appointment i was unprepared; didn't think to ask how thick it was,  etcetc, but not being a medical person, the numbers wouldn't have meant a lot to me, and would probably have resulted in my doing more reading and getting even more stressed.  The C125 blood test that i had in advance of the biopsy appointment was ok,( i did ask for that!), so i thought that is at least some good news.. so now i just have to wait and see.

I can understand the many reasons why people don't post their results/ treatment/ experiences post diagnosis on this site, but hope that you will let us know how you go on. There must be very many people going through the same thing, and shared experiences can make it less scary.

I hope you are well and feeling more postive.

Dear Jenny ... I just saw your post, had not received the notification re your post but saw yours today after receiving the note from Susan.

I hope your problem is solved soon. Hysterectomies are not nearly the problem they were years ago. My oncologist has been doing a newer procedure for some time .. .lyproscopely  msp? so there is no surgical scar to heal or get infected. Recovery is also better. Good luck !

I am so glad that things have gone well for you.

My biopsy  unfortunately revealed abnormal cells,  EC  grade 2 and I now have another wait for an MRI and chest xray appointment , so now more fear that it has spread.   An appointment to meet the consultant will follow, so time is going on.

They say that the appointments now move fast,  but if so, why not give these to you at the time you receive the diagnosis.  There is so much waiting...

Take care, be well  and thank you for your reply
