By ultra sound I assume you mean echocardiogram, basically one and the same thing, but echo records more information, than just a regular ultrasound.
Husband has major heart issue, and wow its amazing to see his heart on the echo, you can see soo clearly that his is not a normal heart, and I have no training at all, heart specialist we saw was amazing, explained to me when I started to ask questions, showed me on her computer screen what was normal and what was abnormal, you can even see the blood flow through his heart, and where and valves are not closing completely and the flow moving backwards when it should not be, but that is not his real problem just a side effect.
How long did you have a holter monitor for, that also picks up electrical issues, husbands bradycardia was recognised because of readings from halter monitor that they had him on overnight in the hospital, when I said he was not right, junior cardiologist felt it was his heart tablets, dropping his heartbeat, exactly what they are designed to do, but not that much I kept saying, but they knew better, senior consultant agreed with me the following day, and said so infront of junior staff.
Pacemaker installed the following day, husband had very slow Pulse, or heatbeat, 30BPM, and down to 23BPM during the night, when junior Dr took no notice of my opinion, married for 45 years, I know when husband is sick. He has 100% branch bundle block, only pain, was in bicep with weakness of left arm, diagnosed as rotator cuff injury, exactly the same symptoms, but with known heart issue as he had, possibility of heart related should not be ignored, (from cardio text book), I found it, as it was for 15 months previous.
I have educated myself, only way I have been able to cope with his condition, started at local library, borrowed local Dr's cardio books, have read dozens of Dr to Dr papers on university sites, and used dictonary when I don't understand the meaning of words.
I sometimes think the staff of the hospital think I am a nurse because I use the correct medical terms, and unless they ask me directly I don't inform them otherwise, but I do not lie to them either.
Senior cardiologist consultant asked me directly, where I had trained as nurse, I had to tell him very sadly that I had no training, yes you do he said, you know more than a lot of my nurses here in this ward.
