So sick of being sick

Posted , 6 users are following.

I am a 24-year-old female who is experiencing daily nausea, usually 2-3 times a day in the afternoon and evening. It will come in waves, be very intense for about 10-25 minutes, then I feel fine, even better afterwards. When I feel this way I also feel like I all of the sudden have to go to the bathroom, even if I don't. Sometimes if I try to go to the bathroom I feel like i'm going to puke, or pass out.

I would just say it's IBS, but my doctors don't agree.

I know I have gallstones, afib, and supposedly GERD, do these symptoms fall into place with any of those?

My cardiologist seems to think we should look into the vagus nerve, as I do get pale and shaky and near passing out when it hits.

This has been going on for about 1.5 years now, and i'm still not used to it. About 3 years back when I was partying in college I used to actually seize and pass out (only 3 times) when I was drinking/partaking in party stuff, but I haven't seized in years.

HELP, I feel horrible.

    Hi Danielle,

Have a look at this page: https://patient.info/health/nausea-and-vomiting

One of the possible causes mentioned is gallstones so that could well be the cause. In short, there are lots of different reasons for nausea. Have you been under any stress at all?

Sorry you're feeling so bad! I do hope you find a solution.

    Hi Danielle

IBS is what it is called. It affects your bowels, and although cramping and pain is linked with IBS it is cramping in the bowels, not your stomach. Because your bowels and intenstines are so big people get pain everywhere from the ribcage, right into their back. Our bodies are tightly compact and very senstive even if they dont seem it. So to say you feel sick may not be a trigger from IBS especially if your not experiencing anything abnormal with your bowels.

Sickness is a varied illness, many people suffer from nausea. With my anxiety i have the exact same problem. Even when i dont feel axious i feel sick. The nausea gets so bad that if i go to the bathroom i will be sick at times. I just have to ride it out till it peaks and fizzles out. Do you suffer from severe stress or anxiety in any way? This could be an affect from that. I would go to the doctors and pester them for tests and possibly ask for a scope to see if you have anything abmornal going on. However if your not actually being sick or having any other side affects things shouldnt be to bad. If you do suffer from anxiety try asking for some medication. My medication helps my nausea heaps! You can also get anti sickness tablets which will stop the nausea. However i never went on these as i felt hiding the problem wouldnt solve it.

    Good luck!

I have had IBS for 30 years...I get waves of nuesa, throw up out of the clear blue also! If I don't move my bowls for days I will throw up too! You should listen to your cardiologist, the vagus nerve is apart of it all ..when you strain it can make you pass out!

    Dear Danielle,

for me it sounds like your vagus is a bit out of balance.

There is a small app called oric which helped me a lot to

get my autonomic nervous system back on track.

It´s a neuromodulation for the vagusnerve.

    Hope you feel better soon
