so sick of the heart flutters….

Hello all, I am doing good with my anxiety lately ...I have been using my mojo techniques  but what gets me is these damn heart flutters....ugh they come out of nowhere...I will just be sitting there studying and wham...sometimes feel dizzy too but not sure if that is just me getting nervous about them. I told my doctor about it and my husband who is a paramedic actaully did a 12 lead ekg on me that was normal...but just still can get the "freak" feeling I get when it happens. I also have muscular neck and upper back from being on computer too so sometimes I think that they are musclar spasms too.., it seems like most women I talk to have these ..I guess I just freak more out about them. It is not like my HR gets high it is more of like quick fluttering then it goes away and I feel fine,....I love Christian Northup book on menopause it has some good insight if anyone is interested too.

Hiya Lisa, I have greatly reduced my caffiene intake and heart flutters have reduced.  Mine were so bad it felt like my heart was banging against my ribs.  Just a thought for you.  Great your anxiety is improved.XXXX

I get the flutters too.  Metoprolol was prescribed at a very low dosage and that helps but if I take some medicines, like cold meds, it starts up again.  sometimes beats really fast for a few seconds.  A couple of times I got real nervous when it fluttered over and over for about 20 seconds.  It seems like a short time but not when you are experiencing it.  Ask the doctor for something.

Yeah my doctor prescribed that too along with a mild dose of prozac just to get thru real bad period weeks and some Klonapin if I really need to lower the anx but my blood pressure and heart rate normally runs around 65-70 so the Beta Blockers would help in times of anxiety I would be concerned about because they lower your HR. ..I just wish I would get out of it for awhile its been weeks...one morning I actually did some nice stretching of my neck and chest when I got up and I swear that whole day I did get any...strange...so sometimes i wonder if sometimes its a muscular tightness thing...just look forward to coming to a close with all of it!! Thanks for your support!

Yes, my heart rate is slow also, sometimes in the 50's so I only take 1/2 of a 25 mg tablet, but its enough to keep it steady most of the time.  I think alot of it is due to menopause.  Our bodies get so out of whack when we lose estrogen.  I started having problems in my 40's and worsened in my 50's before I did something about it.  I hope you feel better soon.
