So so confused where to go from here

I had bad anxiety for six years before I started citalopram 4 months ago. So I knew it would not be a wicked fix.

I took 10mg for the first two and a half months then up to 15mg for a month them the last two weeks I have been taking the full 20mg.

Since starting the 20mg if I'm too far away from home I get the weird dizzy spell and feel really spacey and weak. Considering two months ago I couldn't leave my room I'm grateful that these have got me outside and locally but not for long.

Could I still be adjusting to the 20mg that I started two weeks ago.?? I just get random attacks of what feels like dizziness and low blood sugar when my Blood sugar is normal.

Thanks in advance . Lots of love x

    Akens,

You could still be adjusting. You are making huge gains. Little by little. Do you go to therapy?

    Hi Akens,

It takes between 4 and 6 weeks to adjust to a new dosage of Citalopram, especially if you have never taken it before.  I'm on Citalopram for the third time in ten years.  Because I was on 20mg per day about 5 years ago my GP started me at this dose at the beginning of May 2017, upped me to 30mg in June and I've just started on 40mg.  I'm still getting some side-effects, mainly yawning and tiredness, but feel a lot better than I did three months ago.

It's worth persevering for at least another three or four weeks and hopefully you will start to feel the benefit of your current dose.
