So thankful for this forum!

I was feeling really alone until I discovered this wonderful site!  Thank you to everyone for helping me realize that a lot of the issues I'm experiencing with my recovery are normal.  I had equinus surgery and a suture bridge on my achilles as well as heel spur removal on October 12th.  I'm an avid marathon runner and both achilles had bugged my for about 10 years. (I'm doing the same surgery on the other leg this Friday cry)  I LOVE RUNNING! It's my therapy and pretty much the dr. said if I wanted to run again that this was the next step after years of it flaring up.  This last time it did not go away as it always did before. Anyway, I cry everyday a little but then I go on this site and see that a lot of us have the same set backs and issues.  Makes me feel a little more hopeful.  Thank you again for being here for me and others like me.

AMEN!  This site has been very helpful from recommendations for shoes to ergonomic crutches, compression socks, and ice packs. To understanding the tingling, numbness and weakness, and that the recovery is slow and "lumpy."  Thanks to all who have contributed and shared their stories, experiences, and recommendation, and BEST wishes for a complete recovery and return to your favorite activities!

Awwwuh Karen - I totally know how you feel, especially when you say you cry a little every day. I had my Achilles Tendon surgery on July 28, 2016 and had no idea how hard the recovery was going to be. But, I survived! And you will too. As you stated, this site made me realize that there were other people out there like me who were going through the same thing as I was. Hold on! As each day passes you will get stronger and stronger.

    Good luck with your recovery!

    Hi Karen,

I too have found the website useful for sharing experiences of different injuries. Good luck with your surgery on Friday.
