HI Ruth, YES I've had this.  Some times I have been sooooo tired, every step an effort and it can last two weeks.  I think it has happened when I should have been having a period.  It's all part of the lovely process!

Of course, check with the doc that you are not short of iron, check ferritin levels too, maybe take a multi vitamin, especially B vits are important.  Take a calcium and magnesium supplement too.

Hang on in there and don't expect too much of yourself on the bad days, just do what you need and not too much of the extras - it'll pass.

    Hi ruth

i feel tired everyday, last Sunday I got up feeling energetic, and happy I felt like my old self! Even my partner noticed! But it was short lived back to horrible me day after!! I keep a diary of how I feel and symptoms

my eyes felt dry, and heavy like I could fall asleep I even bought eye drops to rinse my eyes to no avail! I've given up on remedies now spent too much just take vitamins now , also cod liver oil, and evening primrose, with vit d and menopace as it has all the nutrients were losing in them

    They call it crashing fatigue.

I've had it a long time had blood tests etc. All normal.

I've started on HRT a couple of months ago but so far I still get this. So tired even when I've done nothing. I can't sleep my brain isn't tired just my body.

I had my worst experience of it just over a year ago. Christmas shopping with my husband all I wanted to do was get into a café and sit down. When we went back out onto the high street I wasn't interested in anything except spotting the next available bench so that I could sit down.

A few days later I went shopping for clothes with my daughter after the first two shops I went and sat in a cafe and let her shop on her own.

I think b12 helps the one I use is very high strength it's a patch you put one on every 5 days for 24 hours.

Hi Ruth the only thing I've found to help are vegetarian vitamins. I take 2 if the quantity says to take 4 and it helps me get out of being tired. I just bought some yesterday, so worth it and they calm all my other symptoms. Hope this helps.

Please ask doc to check your thyroid hormone levels...you could be hypothyroid. X

I am 44 and also struggling with this ...not just tired, but lethargic as well, as in just can't be bothered to do anything. I have two young kids, so this is not great! Have been doing some reading today (which also led me here, just signed up today, this is my first post!) and have come to the conclusion that I will try adding a high dose of B vitamins (esp. b6 and b12) - advice seems to be that it can take a few weeks to kick in ...
