    HI,

I'm 49 years old and 4 weeks post-op of my 2nd TKR and completely exhausted. I don't remember being this tired after the first. Every 5 minutes of activity requires at least 30 minutes of recovery time. I just feel weak and thought something was seriously wrong. I actually fell asleep during a physical therapy session. Good to of my know I'm not alone.

It has been 5 months and I still have extreme fatigue and tiredness. My surgery went extremely well and I had very little pain and have good mobility but I can't get my energy back. Does anyone else have this issue. I have really been down and depressed because I have no energy.

Thanks Pam, sorry to hear you are always tired but also reassuring to know I am not alone.

I'm from Australia and had excellent care and rehab along with hydro therapy which has helped my knee recover. What I wasn't prepared for was the sheer tiredness and tummy issues ranging from gastric to constipation. Like yourself I am 6 weeks post op from a bilateral TKR.

    Thanks everyone for sharing.

I feel terrible! Knee is doing great, but I am just dragging--I cant get out of my own way!

Ive been to ER twice in last week--nobody can find anything wrong.

And I am caretaker to two very elderly parents. This has bit been fun.

I am 7 weeks post op after tkr. I too felt so tired. At times I couldn't catch my breath, my hands and arms would tingle and I would feel faint. Then I remembered that after another surgery, I'd had the same thing. I was told it was from poor nutrition. So I purchased some whey protein powder and drank a shake daily. I got to thinking that now after substantial blood loss, I might need something extra. I hauled out hubby's protein powder. After just 5 days, those crazy episodes disappeared! Now, instead of barely making it through preparing a meal and having my sweet man clean up, I can do it all--including running up and down stairs doing laundry afterward. I am back to 100%. This might not work for everyone, but it doesn't cost much to try. Having total tkr is an interesting journey. Please let me know if this helps at all. I'm rooting for y'all. 🥰

Note: I still do get tired, but not that horrible faint feeling.

So happy to read this because I am 4 weeks post op and am feeling so much better than the first 2 weeks, but I am just so tired all the time. Glad to see this is happening to many of us post TKR. This has truly been the hardest surgery of my life and I've had too many of them.
