Social Anxiety at Work

Has sertraline helped you overcome social anxiety? I get it really bad in the office environment but strangely not in socializing situations e.g. social events. It cripples me in meetings though

No my boss doesn't know. I've only been there a few weeks - the fact I'm in a marketing and comms role doesn't help (i.e. I should be the confident one) but it's a crazy problem. Once I can get through the first few seconds / minutes speaking confidently I feel like I can take on any one. But at the start of every meeting I feel ultra anxious and I'm so focused on not appearing nervous and my voice breaking that sometimes it happens and then I lose all confidence. It's like I can't give myself a break or something is forever punishing me? It's such a burden. I tried 75mg Venlafaxine last weekend and felt dreadful and my anxiety was through the roof. I couldn't take one while at work I would have been a nervous wreck. I currently take quetiapine 50mg and 15mg mirtazapine at night which helps me sleep but doesn't quell my anxiety during the day. I've taken Sertraline in the past but I was self-employed and a lot less anxious but I did notice a difference. I think I need 100 mg + of setraline until I get settled in - I'm going to start taking 25mg a day from a left over box and build up slowly. Ever get the feeling you know more than the GPs and the psychiatrists? I'm starting to think that way. It's such a lonely affliction especially when you're a bloke

I don't get social anxiety, I get anxiety in my own home, go figure! I get restless and can not just sit or watch tv or read a book. I end up having to walk the dog, all hours of the day or night. My doctor has increased my medication from 100mg to 150mg. So I hope this will help me.
I hope in time the tablets will help you settle down and you can cope with your work environment.
