Hi I was told no cold cuts l did seedless water melon pears without skin boiled chicken soup with white enriched noodles ( home made) I tried baby skinless carrots in it but couldn't tolerate the carrots They say baked salmon and baked tuna is allowed There are very knowledgeable people on this forum who have posted other ideas the last few weeks if your well enough to look it up Good luck!

    You can have :

    Pudding

    Baked potatoes /NO skin

    Pasta

    Canned veggies :green beans, carrots

    Cream of wheat

I would break down hamburger by adding chicken broth,  mix with raw meat and slowly cook, stir often. You can use the meat for a variety of foods. By breaking it down it's easier for you to digest and it's not rough on the colon.

Also STAY on this diet for 4-6 weeks after your surgery.  Even if your incision is healed, your insides are not. My surgeon told me he has had to repair damage done by his just released patients because they went crazy on their diets and tore out inside stitches.  Also eat in MODERATION, hydrate and walk as much as possible. After the 6 weeks then slowly reintroducing other foods in your diet, again in moderation.

Fruit gives you minerals and brain sugar with minimal digestion.

I appreciate all the suggestions.  I think we need to do more brain storming together and the DIvi Diners that was recommended does not look like menu help.    What do you guys think of pimento cheese on white soft bread?  Maybe not for surgery prep but what about recovering  from an attack or later?  Also on smoothies what fruit is okay for a smoothie?

Thank you very much for all your menu suggestions.

I include crock pot chicken and turkey with carrots and potatoes cooked in the crock pot.

I also really like sweet potatos with cabot plain greek yogurt and maple syrup..Scrambled or fried egg in the morning with dry toast I find makes me feel pretty full for a while..Also sort of a shepards pie, cubed chicken or turkey on mashed potatos with carrots and canned green beans..

How about dark chocolate. Should I try it? I love chocolate and I haven’t had any for 2 months.

I also have been nibbling on dark chocolate..I get the 90% bars, I think lindt..

Also I am not positive plain greek yogurt is ok..I think there is a dairy exception for this and it doesn't bother me, good protein source..I eat it almost daily..Today I took bite sized chopped canned pears and peaches and mixed like a half cup of cabot plain greek yogurt with some cinnamin..I love it. A nice treat..Other ideas besides that and the sweet potatos is to smooth it between w pancakes with some grade a maple syrup in between put together like a sandwhich..

Today I baked white fish tilapia with shredded fresh ginger and garlic on top of the fish and little butter on it. I like it and my body is happy.

I fried 2 eggs in little bit of olive oil and add over cooked white rice plus shredded fresh ginger and fresh garlic. Fried but tasty.

I start adding one slide of fresh lemon in my water and tea. Drinking lots of tea.
