Some aches and pains

I’m down to 7mg of pred but having quite a lot of leg pain and neck pain

I take my pred at bedtime as I found if I took it in a morning I felt dizzy and out of sorts all day!

I’m due for blood tests on tomorrow so hopefully they’ll be ok.

Hi anne, Lynda here...you mentioned you're down to 7mgs. Down from how much? And, were u doing alright at your previous dosage? If yes, maybe you tapered down too quickly. I know, cuz I've been there, done that! I'm glad 2 hear you're seeing your doc. today as hopefully that'll give u some answers. Keep us posted. Good "vibes" 2 you!!

Ps....I used 2 take my prednisone in divided portions throughout the day for much the same reasons as you, (dizziness, etc.), but I now take it all in the am (as the mornings are pretty brutal),.and it took a bit of time but now I've found my body has adjusted and there's no more dizziness. Sometimes it just takes a bit of time to let things settle!

Hi, I was diagnosed last November with PMR and GCA and put on 40mg. If come down to 7mg over 8 months! I did get down to 6 but them the rheumatologist suggested going back to 7 for 3 months

Wow....that seems like a pretty quick taper 2 me, ( but to be clear, I'm NOT an expert!) I started at 15mg. about 2 1/2 mon. ago after being dx w/pmr. I was SO anxious 2 get off prednisone asap, that I (along w/my doc), tapered Way to quickly. The upshot 2 all that is now I've had 2 start back at square 1, and I'm on 16.5mg!! So I really blew that one Big Time! Anyway, as I said, maybe your bloodwork will give u some answers as to where 2 go from here! My thoughts are w/you. Please keep me posted.

If you have PMR-type symptoms  it doesn't matter what the blood tests say - it is probably a flare and you have reduced a bit too far for the moment.
