Some advice please unsure whats wrong

Hi everyone, I've been having very painful abdominal pains since just before Christmas, in the past I had been diagnosed with very mild diverticulitis so when these pains started I was put on 2 lots of antibiotics which helped a bit but didn't clear it up. I have hardly been eating anything as had been doing what told if diverticulitis and having liquids and then just mashed potato etc. When I went back to Doctors on Thursday she thought it could be gallbladder although symptoms weren't really like they say for that, I was sent for ultrasound yesterday and although they found some stones it didn't show any blockages or inflammation. So Doctor then said thinks it is my stomach and sent me home with omeprazole to try for a few days to see if that helps. I have felt better today although still have pain all across stomach under ribs, its sort of like its being squeezed, sometimes belching relieves it a bit. I will be going back to Doctor again this week as need to get to bottom of it now. Do you think it sounds like it could be stomach ulcers, its really sore if I press it and don't like having trousers tight around waist as aggravates it. Found this site and seems like some helpful comments and people on here so hope you can advise me a bit. Thanks smile

    Hi, your symptoms could be Gallstones as my daughter had pain on left side under ribs rather than right side which is the usual. If u want a proper diagnosis u need to keep pushing your GP to refer u. I have suffered for years and eventually after an endoscope last year was diagnosed with Hiatus Hernia, Ulcers and Barrett's oesophagus. Not a good outcome but at least i know why i keep getting the pain. Hope u get yourself sorted.

      Thanks my Doctor said to go back this week anyway and will send me to specialist so I'm quite lucky that he is quite easy to talk to and helpful, although the more I look into it the symptoms are more like ulcers now, its because I had all the time been thinking it was diverticulitis so had been on a diet for that which wouldnt have been very helpful for ulcers. So confusing all of it at times.

      Its hard to get a conclusive diagnosis. It could be a combination of things but hope you get it sorted out soon x
