Some advise needed please

I have had a lot of shooting pains in my chest and got rushed to hospital a few weeks ago.

Got ECG x ray and blood tests all came back find. I am continuing getting chest pain all over shooting most of the time.

The main worry is i have been up from 4am this morning, keep feeling like my heart was waking me up with a shot. I have been working at the gym the last week and usually when i leave my heart rate is 130/140 when i am cooling down and around 100 when i am not active but today it started at 110 after hard work out then within minutes the machine said 58.

I was terrified, i walked staright out and never showered and went to doctors who said your fine your heart rate is 80 at the moment but i will get you a heart trace.

All medical staff feel like there is nothing wrong and it could be the machine at the gym was broke but how is my heart rate down to 80 and how am i getting the pain in chest again.

Doctors seem to think it is aniexty but surely it must be someway heart releted.

Any advise would be great, nervous wreck and scared to sleep.

    Hi,

Its easier said than done but try and control your anxiety/nerves. Ive been here with the worried to sleep etc but its a viscious circle.

I dont think that anyone can advise on your symptoms. If you think something is wrong then push for a referal to a consultant.

As for the gym, invest in a good personal heart rate monitor. The equipment at my gym is modern but the accuracy of the readings is poor.  Also do some work on establishinf your max heart rate and keep away from it by using the said heart rate monitor. Polar ones are good.

Also, caffiene can magnify effects and the effects of stress or anxiety. Again, ive been here. Im caffiene free now and i swear by it.

In terms of symptoms, i have had similar and the tests showed nothing. However my consultant requested a complex ecg investigation and thankfully i had many episodes during this. We know the issue and ive been assured its all ok snd i just need to watch i dont push myself to hard.  Hope this helps. But seriously i understand about being worried. Just keep it in check and go see a specialist for peace of mind.

      Hi Paule,

I used to sell Coffee but i hate it, i have also cut out most Juice such as irn bru etc, i would be ok if my heart rate was high but my heart rate being so low during a work out is scary what it was during my work out is what i am like resting and was really low when resting today 80, the doctor says this is fine as for a fit person it is but normally i am 100 plus resting and i was well below that after a long work out today which is what is scary me.

Surely aniexty cant make heart rate lower?

Be careful, I was having attacks for two years, doctors put me on Klonopin and everything for anxiety. My pain was real bad though, come to find out after two years, I had an 80% blockage in my heart, at the age 34 and being a girl, they never thought of looking, till I was about dead. Sorry do not want to freak you out, but if you are on medicade or any governmental inccurence, do your own resurch and make the doctors listen to you.

That is how all my problems started a few years ago anyhow. Yes though, it could be your gall bladder, heart problems, and/or just anxiety. Wish you the best

    Hi

I had all sorts of tests lots of ECG`s all ok.

My doctor is a great guy, he pushed for me to have an angigram, very small camera inserted near your groin push towards you heart, ( there is NO PAIN ). That is when they saw all 4 arteries where blocked had 3 way by pass 3 weeks later. I had chest and middle of back pains plus tingling in my arm ( only one arm ).

    Good luck

It's quite unusual to have lots of short, sharp cardiac pains - but not impossible.

Breathless? Dizzy? Only comes on with exercise.

Btw - your heart rate coming down fst is a good thing. 58? Really good!

Hi Flora, i felt great working out today. Only been back 2 weeks and felt amazing could have spent full day there with no pain or even sweet which is really un usual.

58 is good if you are fit i guess but i am unfit, i should have been 130 plus at least, i just hope machine was broken.
