Some facts, please

Hey, everyone!
I haven't posted on this site in ages, and this is my first time posting on the Fibro forum, so hello - it's nice to meet you all. Basically, for a while now, I have been suffering from certain things that have me worried, and for the longest time my doctor never really mentioned any illnesses that he thought I could be suffering from, and then recently he mentioned Fibromyalgia. Now, he didn't mention it, as in "you definitely have this." He kinda just listed it as an option.
Now, the information I am after is this; please, don't tip-toe around me, though, because it would honestly be a relief to receive some honest opinions. I'm male, I'm only 28, what generally are the odds of me having Fibromyalgia? The only reason I ask is because I know women have a much higher chance of developing Fibro, and I think (I may be wrong), I think I am still slightly on the younger side of the spectrum to develop Fibro? I could be entirely wrong on that last part.
But, yes, be brutal, guys. I can take it.

David I think more woman have fibro than men , but fibro doesn't care what sex you are or age . You should ask your doctor to refer you to reumatologist department and get yourself diagnosed and then you can see what the doctors suggest you to try out as it can take a while to get meds that help you , hope this answers some of your question xx

Yes David I agree with jeaniep, fibromyalgia can happen to anyone, very recently a mother came on these forums to discuss support for her teenage child. It took at least 4 years before I was officially diagnosed, some people suggest keeping an eye on diet, and herbal remedies but sadly for everyone it's trial and error. Keep a daily diary of how you are feeling so you can take that to whomever you are referred to. Hope that helps a little?
