Some good news!!

Besides the normal crummy stuff everyone deals with following surgery I did get some good news from the therapist. I am exactly one week PO my ROM is 90degrees!!! At this point some good is better then blah. Since everyone is concerned about the infection the therapist wants to make sure the incision is healed up before he really starts pushing it. Pain wise what would you like to read?? Being blunt it stinks and there are many other words that can be used as well. The therapist said overall my knee looks very good if I did not tell him how many surgeries I have had on the L knee he would have guessed this was my first.

Just an encouragement: I had both knees done on January 15th, 2018. So I'm 5 1/2 months post op. I wouldn't have done it any differently! People say "Oh you're my hero" for doing both at the same time. No, I didn't want to pay more money to have two separate surgeries and I didn't want to have to go through it twice. Both knees were bone on bone. But if I had to, I would. Some people get scared when they just have one knee done and do not want to go through it again for the second. BUt I do not feel that way. I would regardless. Because even though it is hard for the first few months, that is NOTHING compared to the wonderful results up ahead. There is light at the end of the temporary tunnel. I would think we all can endure anything as long as we know it is temporary and there is light coming.

Second visit with Therapist with effort ( lots of effort !! ) I reached 105 less than 2 weeks PO. Now the bad my quads are extremely weak. The therapist thinks if I can work on my quads I should be able to walk better do stairs more normal things. After the nurse comes by this morning heel slides tighten and relax quad muscle etc. It seems I am off to a good start with the exception of how it feels, the pain part really stinks

Trying to share some good news vs the usual garbage. The therapist came by with lots of effort I reached 110 ROM trust me it was not easy. When I try and do straight leg raises it hurts enough that my leg is shaking lots of fun NOT!! Quads are still blah but working on them
