hi i am 20 year old female, i have a bartholins cyst and urethral cyst the last few months which im on a waiting list to see a gynae and urologist. i recently had bloods done which they said my white blood count is slightly elevated but its not dangerously high. i also have vaginal dermatitis which im on a steroid cream which can elevate my white blood from my own research. ive been under extreme stress this year and have started smoking all of which can cause a elevated wbc. did anyone get this in there bloods with these cysts? fyi my doctors are useless. i had to diagnose myself multiple times before they could.

hi there lolly. i have had these cysts for years. just in October i had my right gland removed. long recovery but would it again just so it doesn't come back. have they tried a marsupialization? it didn't work for me but they say it works well on most people and it doesn't come back.

no they havent ive never even heard of that. i was given antibiotics amoxocillin yesterday to see if it helps. i suffer with uti all the time too with no infection in the urine so i believe this to be a problem. i also suffer alot with my asthma and chest infections which i believe at the time of bloods i had a sore chest and smoking can increase white blood cell count as lungs are constantly under inflammation. im generally well but suffer with fatigue down to antidepressants which they did the tests just to rule out anythjng.

its where they cut the cyst and drain. then stitch the cyst open to vagina wall so it can drain then heal. i would ask them to do this. it is supposed to have a high success rate

mine hasnt caused much issue the last while and when it started it was burning, causing swelling etc i havent actually looked at it in a few weeks as the symptoms have subsided and my doctor said it will go itself. the urethral cyst causes more issues and it makes me feel like i have uti and i also have vaginal dermatitis and am on steroid cream which can effect wbc. thank you though.

hi , I know that any infection in the body & that includes what your suffering with , will elevate your inflammatory markers and WBC sometimes it maybe slightly higher or it can be quadrupled depending on the infection & person this is a normal indicator in your body that something is a miss and you shouldn't worry to unnecessarily, this will stay elevated possibly even a few months after the infection has been dealt with , hope this helps x
