Hey globus sufferers 😃
I started suffering with globus after a bout of tonsillitis and a course of antibiotics. It was HORRIBLE. I feel everyone's pain here, trust me. It felt like I had a golf ball in my throat all the time, it was relentless. I had it for about 4-6 months all told. I saw ENT specialists - I tried omeprazole because it was felt I likely had silent reflux. Certainly, I do get a coating on my tongue in the mornings and I do have a hernia, though I don't suffer with any other symptoms of acid reflux.
Suffice to say, nothing worked. I kept reading online that it could be caused by stress since there is technically nothing in your throat, it's just a 'sensation'. But I have been a very stressy, anxious individual all my life and never had anything like this before so I was sceptical.
I have no idea when and how globus stopped. I think I got so used to it and sadly felt I would have to accept it as a long term thing since I had no idea how to get rid of it. I don't think my stress levels changed as I didn't ever feel I was any more stressed than usual when it came on.
I do from time to time get the same sensation of something in my throat when I swallow. It does tend to come back now and then but NOT HALF as bad and only very temporarily and briefly. I have no idea if globus will come back with a vengeance. I truly hope it doesn't, but the fact that it did clear up for the most part has been encouraging.
I remember researching globus sensation and feeling depressed and despairing, and I remember reading so much negativity - so many people suffering with it for long periods of time and nobody able to provide positive experiences. I wanted to post here to give others some sort of hope that it can go away, temporarily or otherwise.
Love and hugs

I've had globus sensation for five years. Everything possible has been tested by doctors etc. Nothing has found. I'm hoping for it just going away as suddendly as it came. But my personality won't accept me to not trying to solve it myself and that might prolong it?
