On Feb 23, 2016 I was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. I woke up one morning in serve pain, and was extremely nauseous. The ER sent me home with medicine and barely gave me any information about it. I went again to the hospital 2 days after because I can't keep anything down or in. The doctor told me my pancreas was no longer inflammed and that they couldn't see anything wrong on the ct or x Ray. I've lost 22 pounds since Tuesday, I'm in severe pain, extremely nauseous, I can barely walk I'm so weak, I have chills and fever with a headache that won't go away. If this isn't pancreatitis idk what it is. I'm only 19, I'm miserable.

Have you gone to a good GI? It sounds like something else is going on.

Please see GI DR. Very soon. CT and/or MRI of pancreas would show inflamation if it was pancreatitis. Blood work would also show elevated enzyme levels. Since you are not showing these signs something else is going on so GI will need to test further to figure out what it is.

Do not delay as I has sign of pancreas issues for years but untl I had a severe attack I got no definitive diagnosis from my normal Dr. As a result, eventual attack cost me 30% of my pancreas for a condition that symptoms clearly indicted needed diagnosis, pancreasic divisum, which could have been fixed if diagnosed before my attack.

You have to be your own advocate when it comes to healthcare. Too many doctors don't understand or are too busy. It took me 5 years to figure it out and alot of weight. I am not sure where you are from but in the US the States are cutting back on care to contain costs. Creon is very expensive but a lifesaver!

Get in to see a GI doctor ASAP.  Tell them its an emergency.  Medical care these days yes you have to be your own advocate.  I went through two GI doctors before I got to the doctor I wanted and it's sad a person has to do this.  Emergency room doctors are not specialists which you need.  Good Luck and feel better

You have to stop eating for a few days so your pancreas can heal.

Did it happen after a night of alcohol?

So sorry.  Get to a gastrointestinal specialist ASAP.

Did you have blood work done?  Amalyse and lipase levels are what need to be looked at for a diagnosis of pancreatitis.

I had to stay in the hospital for 24 hours on complete bowel rest, only IV fluids and pain medication as needed.

Please keep us updated.  That's a huge weight loss in such a short time.

The hospital said my pancreas is no longer inflammed, but my stomach still hurts. The hospital can find anything wrong. But I know my body and something is wrong. Unfortunately since I just turned 19 I lost my insurance so I can't afford to go to a GI.

The nausea is horrible and I'm dizzy and out of breath I'm misrable

      Oh, so sorry.

Call a GI and talk with their office and see if you can work out a payment schedule.  You need to be seen.  Don't give up, you health is at so important.  In the meantime go on a fat free diet.  I keep mine below 5% fat on anything I eat.  See if that helps.

      Sending good thoughts.
