I have anxiety & it's never been harmful, just stressful. Been to the ER plenty times & my doctors plenty times & they always say it's nothing. I think your friend needs to be educated more on anxiety. Dont worry im anxious all the time with panick attacks sometimes  & im still fine to this day

Hi Danielle it seems I have the exact symptoms as you. Are you on any meds and how are you coping? ThanksĀ

I'm not sure what your friend means by harmful and deadly.  I've lived and dealt with it for over 40 years and at one point I was so anxious I was bed bound but I'm still here to talk about it.

Being afraid of anxiety only makes it worse. I think you might want to educate yourself (and your friend) about anxiety and panic disorder and learn that there are ways to deal with it it.  As my therapy says no anxiety will not kill you even if you think you are dying.

Learn how to lower your stress and quite obsessing over anxiety.  There are many books on the subject.  I recommend Claire Weekes books to start.

Calm down and try to relax.  I'm not sure your huhu means but at least you have a sense of humor and that helps a lot.

    Good luck.

I would be wary when someone says this, yes Anxiety can lead to depression although few depressives will put their lives at risk by Suicide.

You can try Relaxation Technique MINDFULNESS that may help you relax and control your fears. You can also try Breathing Techniques as well these can be found here or on the internet.

Diversion Therapies can also help where you can take on hobbies or other interests, they will make you feel better as your mood should become more positive.

Depending on the reasons for your low mood you need to understand what has caused your concerns and address those fears or worries etc. That can also help

Nothing is better than seeing your GP and explaining why you are feeling the way you do, they can help and put you down along a pathway of recovery, also medication over short medium term, so I would always say make that appointment.

We are always here to chat if needed

Danielle, anxiety is not dangerous. I've had it for over 30 years and nothing bad has ever happened. It just makes you feel crummy and nervous .

The symptoms you get with anxiety are harmless. I've had more than I can count.

When people get chest pain from anxiety, it won't hurt their heart. It's just a bad feeling.  You just have to learn how to manage the anxiety.

did you ever try the meditations for anxiety on YouTube? Also, you can look up how to manage anxiety on YouTube and there are some people that talk on there that could help you. If you can't get to a doctor, you might try this.

No. I promise NO. I had panic disorder (I had panic attacks pretty much every ten minutes) I was afraid of it killing me as well, but my doctor assured me that it could not/would not kill me.

Have you looked for a donation based councilor is your area? There are places that you can pay as much as you can afford (even if it's zero) for counseling. I am panic free (after two years of intense therapy) and cognative therapy is the best defense against anxiety! I am living proof of that!

I'm the meantime breathe! Relax as much as you can. Don't Google...unless it's for advice against anxiety.

Danielle, I've suffered with anxiety for awhile. I am just now stepping to the plate to deal with it. It's not dangerous. Anxiety is just scary, the way it makes your body feel and then it transfers to your mind like there's something physically wrong with you... Great news... There is nothing wrong with you. Your in no danger. What happens is we feed the anxiety we tense up and fear the worst. When it happens imagine your laying on a cloud floating or floating on your back in water... Be completely weightless... Relax all muscles slouch down in your chair and just keep telling yourself over and over your fine your as light as a feather and it will pass and it won't be bad. As soon as you can do this over and over your anxiety won't scare you anymore. We get the same feeling when were excited like on a rollar coaster or when we like a guy our hearts race, we get anxious but it's healthy. You will get thru this and no harm will come to you. The only thing I can say is don't let this control your life. Don't allow fear to take over. Our brains are stronger then you can imagine and just like being little playing pretend and having an imagination... Bring it back when you have an attack... Imagine that cloud or water or anything that makes you just completely relaxed and you will be fine.

Hi Danielle, your friend is talking a load of cobblers, the anxiety response is the body's way of keeping us alive in the face of danger and therefor is totally harmless that's a fact. Neil
