Something's been going on with my legs/ankles

Hey guys! 19 year old boy here. I need your help to understand whats on going on with my legs. I have never had any serious traumas as a child, apart from the normal bruises scratches and so on every child has. However 3 years ago I did one stupid stunt during one of our volleyball school games and i severely damgaed my left leg. I tore a miniscus (not really sure whats in english-the muscles in the knees) and sprung my ankle. I couldn't walk for a month and fully recovered after a year. Until then, to now I've had a couple of injuries, some pain but nothing that serious. At most, day or two rest would do the trick.

However, recently during another volleyball game I stepped wrong (on the outer side of my left foot.) The pain was absolutely disgusting. My whole ankle got swollen and couldnt walk for a week normally. A week after that, even before all the pain got away I did it again(same left ankle)- while climbing stairs. Same terrible pain, same recovery . I stopped doing anything physically challenging but it didnt help. Today simply while going down at stairs it happened again.. this time-right leg. Hurts the more and more time elapses. My left ankle still hurts from the previous accidents and now my right one as well (it was quite healthy until now). And right now I'm feeling terrigle knowing that I have to go through the same pain and recovery process again.. and maybe more of that in the future. I'm honestly quite scared atm because I really enjoy sports especially volleyball and I'm afraid I won't be able to consistently without getting injured again.

Please help!

SOMETIMES WE HAVE TO BITE THE BULLET AND HAVE A DOC LOOK AT IT.  YOU MAY NEED REHAB AND DEVELOP THE ART OF PATIENCE AS IT TAKES TIME.  WE'RE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU.  TELL US WHAT THE DOC SAYS

Go get it looked at. Right knee compensating for awkward walking to relieve the bad one.

you need more time to heal.. others said it right.  Bite the bullet and have Doc look at it.  If you don't it could follow you the rest of your life so do it right now.  All of us that play and love sports have learned to deal with these things and sometimes doctors are really the only answer so you know whats going on.  Good luck.. heal now when your young.  it's a lot easier than 25 years from now.
