Soo down!

Posted , 1 user is following.

My experiance exactly like every one else. Had a horrible cold and 3-4 weeks ago, the got a dry patch of skin at the top of my leg near bikini line.

Over the next week started getting covered in red spot like rash over boobs and down ribs.

Looked on line and diagnosed myself as it was the only thing that made sense. Went to the doctor he comfirmed it and gave me emmolient cream to use.

I am now covered all over my stomache, chest, back, neck and throat and around hairline. I can see it coming down my arms now. I can not telll you how down and worried i an feeling and can not bear the thought of another 10 weeks of this! I was told you never get it again afterwards but have now read people getting it repeatly!

Anyone please got any help or advice?

Hi. Don't worry about it too much. When I was first diagnosed I read so much about it on the internet, and everyone was going on about how it can last years - I was so upset!

I did follow people's advice and got myself some Head & Shoulders shampoo - which soothed my rash (and as it's made for preventing sweating on the scalp - I guess it somehow stops it elsewhere, and that would obviously help with the pityriasis).

Anyway, less than two weeks after the rash appeared - it had started to disappear! I can't say it has completely gone, as I still have a few red spots in body parts that get hot and rub on clothes (like the inside elbow and around bikini line) - but it's definitely not all over me any more!

So, just letting you know that it might not be that bad. I think the majority of people who post about their experiences online have the worst cases, so I wanted to tell you that it's not too bad for others.

Don't scratch! I hope yours clears up quickly too!

there is one thing i know def works , and i know not everyone thinks its the best idea . but if you are as down, and miserable as i was , covered in a horrible rash theen i would say 100% go to the sunbeds!

I had never been to the sunbeds and will not go back ( unless im unlucky enough to catch this again) as i dont think it can be all that good for you but deperate times call for desperate measures.

I had tried almost everything suggested on this forum but nothing was working fast enough. So i headed to the sunbeds .. within a week of going every night it was practically gone , i could wear all my normal clothes again . After week 2 of the sunbeds there wasnt even a trace of the PR.

Plus as a bonus i had a nice tan smile

I agree with those who said sun beds. I didn't go for sunbeds, but I went for sauna and it worked heaps. Besides that, use anything that is moisturising for the skin. I've noticed that with mine, air conditioning dries up the skin such that I feel like the skin is splitting apart.

I also take health supplements for skin. It got rid of the flakiness, but it was the heat that got rid of the lumpiness. And FINALLY I'm seeing signs of healing wink
