There will be floods of tears I can tell you if it's cancelled, or if this pain continues after the op. I really can't sir, stand lie or walk properly tonight. I will so pleased to stand up straight again. Sorry to moan but don't know what ese to do.

    Hi Gillcat

The best advice I can offer you is that you phone your surgeons secretary and tell her your fear of the OP being cancled. Say to her straight that you can't have this cancled it is affecting your life and your wellbeing. That is what I told my surgeons secretary and I think that is why I was not cancled this time. You will get pain after the op I see no point in saying there won't be. But it will be a different pain. Not like what you are going through now and it will be managable pain. What ever you do if you are in pain on the ward do not suffer in silence tell the nurses that is what they are there for. It will be much better than now for you.smile

Good. You need to stay positive, but you really will feel so much better once its over. The first few days are the worst, but apart from the feeling of helplessness which will pass as you recover, you just need to accept all the help offered, pain relief as needed and each day you will feel stronger and more able.

I will be thinking of you, so make sure you keep us up to date. Best Wishes to you.xx

I agree with hailea - there will be post-op pain but really, it is a different pain - it is wonderful to be able to share all our concerns and question, the bad times but also the victories here - it is safe, supporting and loving ....Good luck on Thursday !!! keep positive thoughts as the surgery will go through ..... big hug - all is well

Hang on in there, Gill. Try to stay focused no matter how hard it is. I'm sure that you will be fine and that the op will go ahead. Pain gets us all down and drives us to despair, making things seem very negative. The time seems to be flying by now. Keep yourself busy as I know you have been with cooking, etc. Before you know it, Thursday will be here and gone and you can start your recovery and new life with your new hip! I will be thinking of you and we can compare notes when it's all over. Take care. Xxx p.s it's o.k to have a moan!

Gillcat I am so sorry to hear you are in so much pain, you look like such a happy and jolly person in your photo, this must be getting you down. To the say the least. Thursday is not long to wait, so you are on the home straight now, and this is probably the most difficult part. Still in pain, and worried about the operation, at least once you have had it you know the pain will soon be gone and you are on the road to recovery. Take care and buy yourself some flowers today for being so brave!

Think positive that your op will go ahead on Thursday.  You will probably feel uncomfortable afterwards, but not like the pain you are having now, more of a tenderness than anything.  You will feel so much better afterwards, take it easy, don't get stressed, just relax and let things go over your head.  Its all onwards and upwards now.  Good luck for Thursday.

Hi gilley, sorry your pain is so bad I promise you this pain will be gone after your op. You will have soreness and stiffness and could have a leg like a log due to swelling but this will improve and that horrible pain you have had for so long will be gone. Good luck hang in there loads of hugs
