Sore Head

For about three months now I have been suffering with a sore scalp. It was firstly right on top of my head but now affects the sides at the top of my head as well. It isn't a skin issue as the pain feels "inside" my head. Has anyone else had anything like this ? Painkillers don't seem to do much.  Thank you.

I have had a headache for the last four days, with vomitting, sensitivity to light, and I also have pain in my neck. I thought it was an ocular headache because I lost sight in both eyes and had loss of hearing last year. No pain killers will work unless you know whatis causing the headaches. If it feels inside your head then it has something to do with your brain. I still do not know what is causing my migraines. so i may not be much help

I think any illness where you lose your sight, even momentarily , should be thoroughly investigated.

i have to attend an Eye A&E dept for an eye problem and the first thing they ask everyone is have you had any loss of sight.

Please go back to your dr and ask for a referral to a specialist and get it looked at.

Sorry to hear about your headaches Karen, they sound a lot more severe than mine. I don't have any sickness. Mine is a constant niggle and soreness most of the day. My GP dismissed it a few weeks back as nothing bt it has got more irritable since then. I hope your pains get better.  Take care.  Brian

No need to be sorry, I learn to deal with them sometimes I'm just curious as to what is causing them. That is why I joined the site in the first place so that I could figure it out. I haven't had a headache in three days so I'm okay today, but who knows maybe they just might come back. If you could help me that would be help alot or if anyone you know could help, that would be great also

Hi not saying you got the same as me but thought i would tell you of my experience with a sore head.My head felt sore to touch and rather felt like i had bashed it on a cupboard (if you know what i mean)I went to docs when i had a small rash on my forhead. The doctor said i had the early stages of shingles.Got medication and it all cleared up.Not saying thats what yours is but is worth a thought.Maybe you should go to docs and find out.Shingles was the last thing i expected to hear for a sore head.Best of luck hope you get it sorted.

Thanks Valerie, I hadn't thought of that. Funnily enough I did trip inthe street about three months back and banged my head and got a lump above my eye that is getting smaller. I can still feel it now. I haven't got a rash though but will go back to the Doctor. Pleased you have ot yours sorted.

      All the best  Brian
