Sore heels after total hip replacement. Try this.

Posted , 5 users are following.

The nurse in hospital filled a stretchy examination glove with water, tied it up to make a mini balloon, put it inside another one for strength and put it under my heels. Fantastic

Now at home without gloves 😦so last night raided my sons bedroom ( he is at university) and found a packet of condoms. Filled one with water, tied it at the neck and.....brilliant. I slept non stop for 7 hours.

Not sure i will admit the theft to my son. Told my hubby he would have to replace them. Reply was unprintable 😊

Happy days

Take care all you hippies

    Hi Kate

thats brilliant, wish I'd have been so creative when I was suffering the sore heels - I purchased two cushioned heel supports from Amazon.   Yours is not only cheaper, it sounds more effective.   I'll remember for when I have my second hip done.

    Good luck with your recovery.

Thx jo. The ironic thing is that I own a mobility shop and sell heel protectors etc but a filled condom is much more effective :-)

      Take care

No leakage even with my size 7 foot resting on it all night. If this conversation ever gets out of this context, people are going to think i am really strange 😉

We are situated next door to a pharmacy and I can just see the look on the young lads faces when they come in for supplies and I tell them to fill them with water and tie a knot in the end and be sure to check for leaks before use. Hilarious :-)

I can feel a new business happening...

      Xx
