Sore Lips

Hi everyone! I have two little red chapped patches on my lips. They are ok, a little dry. But then as soon as I eat something acidic like fruit they get really really red, sore & stinging/burning feeling. Does anyone know what it could be?

It could be cold sores. I have similar but all on lips and round my mouth, same symptoms, I have peri oral dermatitis. I would confirm with a doctor as to what yours is. One bit of advice, never put any steroid or hydrocortisone cream on your mouth. Hope you get sorted.

Thank you for your reply, I recently also had Perioral Dermatitis was misdiagnosed twice by my GP and given steroid cream. Had to pay for a private appointment & he prescribed me anti-biotics and a non steroid cream. And that cleared up fine & hasn’t returned. But I really don’t know what this is on my lip?
