Always! Stress / anxiety causes muscle tension which in turn causes muscles to ache 😀

Yep, mine is mostly in my neck and across my shoulders. But when my anxiety was at its worse my whole body was achy.

Yep. Anxiety is tension. Tension causes tight muscles anywhere in the body. Usually felt in the biggest muscles of arm, legs etc but can be anywhere. I hold tension in my stomach. Causes soreness and digestive problems. Easier said than done but try relaxation.

Yes, my muscles ache in my chest right now and my shoulders and my neck. My ankles also hurt and I think that's because when I'm anxious I curl up and tense my whole body. I usually feel a little better after a good nights sleep x

Hi, all the time,  my gp told me I hold all my anxity in my muscles. I get really bad in my sholders an in my thighs. I went for physio which really helped. They also told me to wear them heat patches. An before I go to bed hold a hot water bottle on the areas. This really really helped. Hope this helps a bit. 👍 I also get a really warm bath every night.

Can't add any more to replies, pop along to your health food store and pick up some lavender oil (it has to be real lavender oil), put a few drops on your pillow when you go to bed and have a cup of camomile tea ( tastes crap but add a bit of sugar no milk) or a mug of hot chocolate.

When you start feeling anxious or struggle to sleep focus on breathing in through your nose and breath in the lavender oil scent and try to concentrate on it or think about the meadow it might have come from with the sun shining, birds singing and sound of church bells in the distance... Make your own scene with whatever you want and experience it, if you thoughts turn to your anxiety just guide your thoughts back to the lavender oil smell.

    Lavender is a natural relaxant.

The other natural relaxant are sleep aids containing Velerian again pick up from health food store but much cheaper from chemist.

    Jake82386,

I get muscle aches in my neck and shoulders. My therapist said that it affects anxiety sufferers in different places. I use a warm pack on my sore muscles and it helps me. I have one I put in heat in microwave.

All the time, Jake. My legs / arms are in agony. They're heavy, constricted (like cramp) aching & weak. It's torture. Still no idea what trigges mine either. So frustrating sad
