Sore on inner labia

Posted , 6 users are following.

Its been about a week now since I've had this sore, i don't know what it is but it hurts to pee, and afterwards it stings for quite a while which makes me dread going to the toilet. it hurts to touch, I'm on my period this week and i think it bled before i started but i presumed it was my period starting. Will it go away once my period is over and i can stop wearing pads do you think? Any help would be appreciated!

That looks like a vulva fissure /crack and I'm sure it is very painful. There could be many reasons why this has happened. Have you used any steroid cream on your vulva in the past? Over use of steroid cream can cause these. Do you lubricate well with gel or cream before intercourse? A dry vulva/vagina can split/crack.

If you use feminine washes, especially for this area then please stop there is absolutely no need. A healthy vagina is self cleaning. Just mild soap and wash gently and rinse thoroughly.Try adding a tablespoon of salt to your bathwater and let the area soak for 5 mins then shower with clear water.

If this is still there after 2 weeks or more cracks appear then do contact your doctor.

Forgot to say,I dont know your age but I am assuming you are still quite young. Cracks like these can become a problem after the menopause.

Thank you Marina for your reply! i haven't used any creams at all for a very long time, i haven't notices anything different when this appeared except for maybe a bit of itching but that went away quite fast! i don't think wed had sex for a for a week or so. I'm only 30 so should hopefully not be menopause haha I will add the salt thank you! if not gone in another week or so i will try and get to the doctor's

Have you tried Vitamin A & D Cream? It is over the counter and a friend of mine who had a similar sore found relief with that. Good luck.

I once had one of these from wearing too tight of clothing during an eventful weekend, based on the photo, it definitely looks like a fissure (tear).Keep the area as dry as possible, go without underwear as often as you can and if you need to wear underwear only wear cotton that is not tight on your vagina, pat dry when urinating/getting out of shower, and try not to stretch open your legs too wide because the more friction and stretching the longer the skin will take to heal. It took about two and a half weeks for mine to clear up!
