Sore penis for over a month and a half

hey all so about 5 weeks ago i started having some pain in the head of my penis. It started after i masturbated and will not seem to go away. some symptoms include pain in and around the head gland, seems to be red and a little inflamed by the meatus. swelling also comes and goes throught the day. as well as itching/irritation, very sensitive to my boxers as well. Theres also some pain after peeing and ive come to notice it causes most of the discomfort when im sitting or lying down. Ive had multiple urine tests for STDs and UTIs and they are all negative. Ive done 10 days of cypro and 10 days of doxy will little to no effect. Currently using lotriderm cream and getting minimal to no results. My doctor dosent seem to know so hes sent me to a urologist in FEB. Wondering if anyone has the same symptoms and if they can provide some hope. I read on some other fourm that castor oil and some anti fungal cream could be trick. Im thinking its either got to be prostate or maybe some sort of fungal infection maybe thrush. So if you do have any info please share im starting to lose my mind.

Following this as i'm dealing with somewhat similar issues.

Where is the pain located? Could it be in the urethra itself? Or do you this it's the muscle/flesh?

Brad, my general concern would be when did you first apply some medication, a cream or an ointment to your penis?

Did you follow the instructions as to how to use each of the topical medications you have tried? It seems you have quickly moved from one medication to another? The mistake many make is not to give a topical medication long-enough to work - with some there is an immediate impact, however, with many it is not until 2, 3 or even more weeks down the line that the actual medicinal component will begin to work.

Just as a further example, steroid based creams, and in particular ointments (clear / opaque appearance) may even take several months to even begin to have positive impact.

Just confirm, where any of the medications you have been given were they orally taken?

Were you sexually active immediately before this started? As long as you take care of personal hygiene with regular showers, change underwear daily, that kind of stuff you are unlikely to have a fungal or bacterial infection.

Sports clothing can be a potential source, so if you sweat during training, or do gym stuff, do actual competitive sports, then you regularly need to change shorts each time you use them.

In terms of the anti fungal you have - follow the instructions carefully, depending on the one you have you need to apply 2 or 3 times daily. Get in the habit of washing the glans after each time you urinate and use a clean dry towel that only you use. If you are out of the house and cannot wash, use a clean tissue or toilet tissue to wipe around the tip of the glans. If you are not circumcised ensure to keep loose foreskin away from the glans each time you urinate.

Again if you are not circumcised you will need to apply the antifungal to the inside of the foreskin - draw the foreskin towards the base of the penis so that the glans is completely exposed.

I think the minimum usage for most antifungals is 15 to 21 days - so if you do have a fungal infection you need to follow the specified instructions that come with the medication.

If you are dealing with a GP / Regular / Family Doctor often what they will go is try one medication after another in the hope that they hit on a one that will work. It is often trial and error, and the one that will work is dependant upon how the infection began in the first place - if this is unknown or uncertain, then it is usually a case of trying different medications.

Have you taken any medications for this problem orally?
