Sore testicles

Has anyone had sore testicles due to haemochromatosis? Mine have been sore for a couple of weeks but my GP doesn't think it is related.

    Hi Eric..

I know men can have impotency problems with hh, but I've not heard of the testicles becoming sore. A classic issue when men have sore testicles could be something called 'blue balls'. I've heard other chaps talk about this over the years.

What is the pain like, and what have you tried re dealing with the pain?

I suppose there is always a chance it might be linked with iron overload, but it's not a symptom one usually hears about.

Are you in treatment phase or maintenance?

Hope you're able to get to the cause of this....as one chap to another, nothing worse than sore testicles...keep me posted....

    All the best, Mike.

Thanks for that,Mike.I am awaiting my first phleb and the pain is a bit like gentle squeezing and sometimes goes down my inner thigh.I don't have any erectile problems but am aware that HH can shrink them.

They do say that the gonads can ache for some people male or female and I do suffer pain in my ovaries.

Hi Eric, hopefully once you get the phlebs started, you might see an improvement, despite the GP saying its not related. Unfortunately, many of our GPs don't really have a clue about our condition...hope the phlebs start soon. What's your ferritin level? Mine was 2000 last year. It was 21 a few weeks ago....in maintenance now, a blood donor....

    Mike.

Hi Mike.My serum ferritin hovers around 1400,but it has been as low as 1088 and as high as 1500.I am having a liver biopsy soon(he says he doesn't expect any scarring)and regular phlebs after.
