Im 50 and noticed swollen lymph node on right side thats been coming and going for 6 month. 4 months ago i developed a severe and recurring sore throat also on right side went to two different docs both said they saw nothing wrong, maybe allergies. Allergy meds did nothing. I asked for ENT referral. ENT scoped, saw nothing unusual and gave zpack just in case. followup visit a few weeks later, barely looking he said it was nothing and he seemed almost annoyed because i came in at the start of covid, said "it could be viral so keep your distance" . He was third doc to say it was nothing to worry about But the pain was bad. it started getting better but now its acting up again Finding this thread is giving me hope that it is hormonal and will eventually pass. (maybe i need to find an older female ENT ) I am so frustrated with the healthcare system, I rarely go to the doc but when I do I wish I had more time with docs who can take the time to figure out what's going on . Unless the condition on the top 5 common conditions, or you're about to die, it doesn't seem to be a problem.

It lasted 7 months for me. I finally decided it must be Peri/Menopause related, I stopped thinking about it, started refocusing on other things and told myself it was just something i had to deal with until is subsides. Then finally in November last year it went away. I was thrilled to say the least. Current symptoms i still have are subtile pain in middle of my back about the size of a quarter in area, vivid crazy dreams, ear ache once in a while. and fatigue that comes and goes. But thats about it. We will all get through this, I find strength since finding this group helps so much knowing others are going thru the same thing. Much love to you all and better days are coming!!!

Hi Sharcerv,
I have the same problem. I also have sinus, ear pain, swallowing issue and neck pain.
Do you have any other ENT problems? How has everything else been on the terrible ride of peri/menopause been. I can't wait until things are normal again.
I wish you all the best!

Yes I do have other ENT related problems. Right now I've been going through post nasal drip issues at night which triggers my heartburn and indigestion because all of the drainage going down my throat at night. It's a never-ending list of things with this Peri menopause non-amusement park ride we're all on.

Yes! Trouble swallowing too. Feel like something has scratched my throat and as if something stuck in my throat sometimes.

Me too, sore throat that comes and goes, constant post nasal drip, suspected silent reflux, weird feeling in my throat like it's getting smaller and tighter. Back of my mouth almost feels like it's pruney if that makes sense, super dry too. Feel tightness in my chest all the time, try my husbands inhaler which helps break stuff up. I'm afraid to go get anything checked out at doctor though due to covid. Hoping it's perimenopausal related like everyone else. I get scared and anxious and that doesn't help with relux or constant clearing of throat. Ugh! Sick of being scared all the time. My ears hurt on and off as well, I get feeling of fullness in my ears and throat that eventually goes away.
