This may be too much info, or not on target. I apologize. You are asking for acid and heartburn.. Reflux Oesophagitis/LPR/Silent Reflux is similar but a little further.

We are made of salt water. Our tears are salt water. I never saw a problem using a warm salt water gargle.

I am far from an expert and am just learning myself. When my throat was exceptionally raw/on fire - the only thing that helped calm it was N-A-C aka N-Acetly-L Cysteine. I take it with my meals.

I am currently taking Olive Leaf, because I had the start of sore throat. It has helped.

I have been taking a tea called Throat Coat by Traditional Medicinals. It contains Licorice-root, slippery elm bark, marshmallow root, cherry bar, fennel fruit, cinnamon bark, sweet orange pee.

I have taken Oil of Oregano.. to stop Phlegm. You can only take it for maximum two weeks at a time..

I am trying to learn a low acid diet, low fat diet for LPR based on books from board certified doctors: Dr. Jaimie Koufman and Jonathan Aviv.

Best of luck, I hope you feel better.
