Sore throat, not infected, what next?

Hi, I've had a mild sore throat for about 3 weeks. I noticed lumps on the back of my throat (see pic) so went to the doctor. I also started with a cold and slight cough about 1.5 weeks ago. At first he said it might be herpes, but ruled it out because I'm not sexually active. He prescribed me an aspirin gargle (but its not really helping much) I then had a throat swab and the results came back clear - no infection. 

What should I do next?

      Unfortunately not, still don't know what's caused it!

    How are you feeling bro? Did you try gargleing warm salt water ? Hope you are okay now..
