Sore thumb - tendin

Posted , 5 users are following.

Hi all. For the past 12 months I have had tendon problems (arthritis) to my thumb. I have been to physio but he can’t do much more for me. I am a senior but wondering if anyone else has this problem and how they manage with it. Thanks.

Yes I have a throbbing pain in my left thumb Check out the two posts I’ve written today!

My PT gave me information about a support device that is sleek and supports your thumb keeping the pain at bay!

I’m a golfer and Tennis player I never thought I’d be unable to play because of my pain for the rest of my life

    That has changed gay!

Yes, I worked in a library for years and for a time used an elastic support, it was my thumb which bothered me, but it was really the wrtst which was supported, and it helped.  Just bought an inexpensive support from the drugstore,  nothing bulky.  I also did exercises prescribed by my physiotherapist and they helped a great deal, basically strengthening muscles in the wrist area.

Yes all I know is my thumb pain was gone for about a year after that it returned

This device only wraps around the thumb area. Haven’t gotten it yet and saw my PT at the store...She was disappointed that I had not ordered it yet!

I was just getting ready to post my own post about this and I still will because my situation is quite a bit more complicated. But I can completely understand where you're coming from. That all being said I think you need to talk to your doctor about getting a steroid injection in your thumbs. I bet Dollars to Donuts that that will help you. Good luck!
