I have started Citalopram yesterday as I visited the GP , I was feeling dizzy and my temples feel like they are being squashed , I also have pain in my ears and my jaw keeps locking ,he checked me over ears etc and said he thinks it's my anxiety , does anyone else get this ??? I cannot believe that these symptoms are anxiety and I'm getting myself worried.

I used to get that, Natalie. \|The jaw locking thing was scary and weird.

It really IS anxiety, I'm quite sure of that.

Send another post if you need more help and support - also to let me know if the citalopram is helping. Remember it takes 2 - 4 weeks to kick in. Love Tess/

      Thanks Tess

It is strange and the ear and face pains can't believe anxiety can do so many things to your body.

      Thank you so much xx

I started Citalopram 3 weeks ago and the last two days have been the best. Although anxiety seemed to get a tad worse initially.

I sure hope it helps soon.

I know! It doesn't seem possible, but all of us here have been through this and because we're anxious, we get more and more symptoms.

Hope the citalopram will work for you - a lot of people find that it makes hings worse when you first start taking it, so keep on taking them   Love Tess

    Hi Natalie

yes my lovely I totally agree with what you have posted the citalopram will kick in soon now I think it takes different times for different people mine took four weeks but it does help and i have jaw locking something that i have never experienced in all my years of going through anxiety so i still find it hard to believe just what anxiety is capable of and its so uncomfortable, I thought as im calm at the moment it would stop but it hasnt. im back at my doctors on 23rd so i shall mention this this  is very new to me , the other symptons yes,  so its just another thing to add to our symptons

    Hi,

    I need reassurance as well.

I've been a anxiety/depression sufferer for a long time. I still can't believe that the physical symptoms can be so bad. At the moment I am trembling on the outside and fluttering/quivering on the inside. My chest hurts and my breathing is all wrong. My face is numb and tight and I feel awful. I've tried  breathing exercises and have been for a walk  but that seems to make things worse.

I take Lexapro and have clonazepam when needed. I hate to give in to it but need some quality of life so will now take 0.125mg and try to calm down.

I hope that the citalopram works for you. I took it for a long time and it really helped me.

    take care

    Sxx

did your doctor not tell you my love that citalopram or any anti depressant will will make your symptons worse before they get better. please dont think i am scaremongering you but antidepressants make everything seem worse this is because they are helping to replace and renew the seratonin cells(the feel good cells) in your brain this can take anything between 2-6 weeks to kick in and to start making you feel better. mine took3-4 weeks but everyone is different. I would say initially the first two weeks are the worst but please ride with it as they do work I have been on and off them for years I get the teeth clenching I havent had the sore ears but ive had other symptons some will include nausea, palpatations, skipped heart beats, sweating, dizziness brain fog, crying, sense of doom , chest pain, muscle pain, tightness and sleeplessness to name a few. you may not get these but different symptons but these are quite common and every one is different my love. any symptons you do get and dont understand either ask your gp or on here because someone will be able to relate to yours and help you understand. I find people on here "experts" because they have experienced anxiety, stress and/or depression and they will be genuine not like google ect please stay off there as they scare you, you will have all sorts if you read anything off there and make you more stressed. I hope i have been able to help you the reason i mentioned the citalopram in the first few weeks was so you would be aware and not so frightened if that makes sense.
