hey everyone!

I just created an account, in a hope to get an answer..

I met this almost 3 months ago. We immediately clicked and we had unprotective sex. I just want to mention that my last relationship was from 9 months ago, so I had no sex in between.

We've seen each other for a week and then it started to get itchy downthere, I directly thought of a yeast infection cause he is a new partner. I went to walgreens to get a cream, it was supposed to get me healed in less than 3 days. I started to apply the cream which was starting to burn me little by little. I googled to see if it was normal, apparently it was because it was "killing" the candida.

Next day, I started to apply the cream again, but during the day, it reaaaallllyyyy started to burn me. I then decided to check what was going on and i saw little sores. I panicked, I didn't know what to do so I googled again, and found out about herpes. I litteraly had a mental breakdown, I wanted to die! I decided next day to go see a gynecologist. From that point I stopped using the cream.

Next day, I showered, go to the medical center asking for a gynecologist. I explained the situation and she said indeed, it looks like symptoms of herpes. She said she will swab the sores and send them. Then she started to check, and asked me "where are the sores?" I said "down there all over there!" she said "there is literally nothing you can see by yourself" indeed, there was no sores anymore! I was in shock! But she said that the cream literally burnt me, and that I have "cottage cheese" discharge, meaning it was a yeast infection. She then prescribed a pill. 2 Days after I was healed from the yeast infection and the redness from the burning. She said that herpes does not disappear by 24 hours, it's impossible. This happened 2 months ago.

2 weeks an a half ago (16 days ago precisely) I had the same thing.

I went on vacation with the same person and was all day long on the beach/jaccuzi. The last days I was literally spending my day in the jacuzzi, and didnt think of the consequences (humid bikini bottom for too long = yeast infection). Then it started to itch again when i was at the airport. Next day, it was itching again so I imagined it was a yeast infection again! I decided to apply coconut oil this time, I didn't want to risk anything.

Itching sensation didn't stop the next day. I decided to go check, then i see the sores again! It is CRAZY because there literally NO blisters, it's just sores all over my clitoris, and that's it. I panicked again, I thought it was herpes for sure this time. I stopped using the coconut oil.

Next day, again, the sores started to disappear (??). The day after, the sores completely disappeared, and I had the cottage cheese discharge again (really confusing??)

Anyways, I decided when i'll go home (i'm not from the united states) i'll immediately talk to my gynecologist. That's what I did.

After showing her pictures, the evolution, the story of how it happened, she said she dont think it is Herpes cause it's supposed to hurt you, stay way much longer, and it doesnt really look like that, even tho the picture are confusing. She said if it happens again (hopefully not), I'd have to come back immediately to get them swabbed. I asked for a blood test, she said there is no need.

Next day, my family doctor came at home and I told him about everything (without showing pictures) he said I can do the blood test, and see the results.

Today morning, I did the blood test, results came back a few hours later, and here is what I got:

Herpes Simplex 2 IgG: <0.5

Herpes Simplex 1/2 IgM: >3.5

I literally panicked immediately, I checked on the internet and it says that more than 0.9 it's positive!! I called my doctor he wasnt answering, so I called a random gynocologist that told me that it means that I have been in contact with the virus recently.. that's why I have those results..

I told her all what I explained above and she said she understands why the other gynocologist said it can't be herpes because symptoms of herpes are not what I describe.. and that is a "riddle" (?)

Anyways I'm lost, what do you think??

I can't believe it's herpes!!

    I forgot to mention, inside my vagina I had no sores, and when I was peing it didn´t hurt at all

    I think you should get tested for STDs, I don't consider herpes to be an STD because it's more of a skin issue and can't hurt you, but most yeast infections won't give you cuts unless you scratch yourself so hard that you break the skin and those cuts wouldn't go away overnight. Herpes doesn't give you discharge and the first outbreak is the one that hurts the most or the only one that ever does hurt. The first outbreak makes it painful to pee because they're open wounds. Blood tests for herpes aren't that accurate and even if you do technically have it, you could've had it for years and never had an outbreak because that's how it is for most of the world and 80% of people have it. The only tests that are accurate are swabs. This doesn't sound like herpes, it sounds like it could be an STD though so get tested for those ASAP.

      thank you so much for your answer! when you say STD's, is it thru the blood test as well?

      Here are is what i done so far:

      Hepatitis C: negative

      HIV

      HIVI and Il Ac + Ag p24: negative

      O Syphilis TPHA: Negative

      What else should i get tested for?

      All STDs are tested through a blood test. I'm honestly not sure what this could be. You could have HSV2, which is typically genital herpes and those look more like cuts than blisters. You could've already had herpes which is why the blood test came back positive for it. When I have an outbreak, it typically goes away very quickly so you've probably had it for a while and not realized when your first outbreak was. Swabs are the best way to determine what it is. It's possible you have a certain type of bacteria in your vagina and it's causing this, but not a typical bacterial infection. If you have any new info about it please let me know because I'm very curious and want to help in any way I can.
