      Yep. Housework will do that!

And I think it's also part of walking incorrectly. I'm learning the importance of walking properly and not relearning bad habits because it builds up the wrong muscles and keeps the correct muscles weak. I was told to keep on the stick until I coul walk properly - heel to, standing upright and pushing off the back foot. I think I might start a post about it because it seems so important.

      Cheers,

I also think that we are told to walk and walk

for our rehabilitation that we tend to walk too speedily

in order to achieve our targets.

Joy, I'm also 8 weeks out . Any activity that uses those muscles cause that cheek bite for me too. I think it's pretty normal at this stage.

Joy, you've just done too much. From 4 weeks post-op I had awful twingeing pain in my bum for about 2 weeks and was so worried I'd done 'something' to my new hip I rang my surgeon. He told me I'd done too much too soon. Those big muscles had got shorter as the joint broke down and now with the new hip they are having to stretch back to the correct position and that causes pain if you overdo things. With some gentle massage by my physio and anti-inflammatories prescribed by my GP, the pain has almost gone.

Snap.  A few of us have had this and it looks like it stems from overdoing things.

I tend to overdue things as well.  Although at phys therapy, they push for me to use my weak muscles correctly and in doing so, it aggrevates because the day afterwards, im in pain in the butt the entire day!!!  Have any of you come across any clicking in your op hip?  My PT says it could be tendon clicking over muscle or bone? Anyone else get that feeling or sound?  I worry that its the bone but PT says most likely not as the extensive xrays taken during surgery would show any bone impingement.  Also, it is not always that I hear or feel the click.  Im at 6 1/2 weeks post op.
