Speech or Memory Loss?

Has anyone’s speech been affected by CFS? Or their memory? My short term memory basically is very bad and my speech is suffering as well. It’s hard to form words sometimes. Or I’ll stutter often. Doesn’t matter if I’m having an episode or not. It just happens.

Both my speech and memory have been affected by what I assume is my M.E. I seem to have had some form of retrograde amnesia whereby chunks of my memory have all but disappeared. I have snapshots of past memories that I can't build a prolonged stream of memories around, if that makes sense. My short term memory is absolutely dreadful and can forget things in a moment. Following and engaging in conversation is a challenge because of the brain fog/mind exhaustion and stringing a few sentences together can be difficult. I can forget what point I was trying to make mid sentence...so embarasssing. The scary thing is that these things seem to have got worse not better over about a 20 year span.

      Hi Simon,

suggest you go down to doc's and INSIST on MRI scan which takes

15min, which will pin point any problem with great accuracy,

next step medication, which must be changed within a wk if any

side effects, request metantine first just 20mg a day

important to take same time every day,

hardening of the arteries/cholesterol levels, shallow breathing

poor diet/lack of exercise all contributes to memory loss,

Are You taking gabapentin?  If so there is a possible answer! Talk to GP could be some med but gabapentin is known  to cause this.
