    Dear rash,

You're describing haematospermia. Has it happened before?

In most cases, the cause is benign and is usually from a burst blood vessel somewhere inside the prostate gland or seminal vesicles. Other causes include vesiculitis, inflammation of the seminal vesicles, seminal vesicle cysts, prostatitis and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as genital herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhoea or trichomoniasis.

Less common causes but especially in older men include high blood pressure, bleeding disorders and prostate cancer.

If you are 21 and this is the one and only occasion, I would probably just leave it. If it is happening repeatedly, you should ask your doctor to screen you for STDs and maybe refer you to a urologist.

It didnt happened before i guess it is not STD cause i havent been having sex for pass 6 month and have tested hiv home test kit for twice time after 3 month and it come back negative

more common causes will be some sort of infection at your age such as epididimytis , cyst infection of the testicle itself vericosele there are many causes do you have any other symtoms?

i would get checked by your family doctor you may need some antibiotics or could be just a burst vessel but always safer to be checked especially in your jewels

      Dear rash,

It sounds like you have a urinary infection, which may explain a lot of your symptoms including the haematospermia. Time to see your doctor asap.

      hi Rash,

as adhari has said you seem to have either a urinary tract infection or infection of the reproduction system you will need doctors to prescribe some antibiotics you dont need to see the doctors with the symptoms you have described they will more than likely prescribe these over the phone

Hello, I need your help. I am 17 years old. A week and 6 days ago I noticed that my semen color has changed from white to brown. I am really nervous and stressed about this situation. I don't want to talk to my parents about it because it is so embarrassing. Maybe it wouldn't be so embarrassing if I would be older. Going through the week I masturbated 5 times and none of them was better in health way. After that I waited 3 - 4 days and masturbated again to see if brown color gone away. It didn't. That was even more stressfull because what if I am only waisting my time by waiting? I don't even know what is the cause of this. I am swimmer so just in that week I shaved my public hair a little bit, but it wasn't the first time. However, could it be true that because of shaving I got infection? I don't feel any pain. The only sympthom is brown semen. I have some questions and want someone to share experiences and advises.

    1. Is it normal to deal with this for a 17 years old teenager?
    2. How long usually it takes to heal? Should I wait more? (I am having this problem for week and 6 days)
    3. Should I stop my masturbation when I am dealing with this? For how long?
    4. If this is normal for 17 years old, what is the most common cause for this age?
    5. Is it possible to become infertile from this illness?

Share your experiences about how you dealed with this problem. How long have you dealed with the problem? Have you used anything? Was it something serious? Have you told anyone? What symthoms have you had? What was the cause of problem?

      Share your advices as well.

      Thank you.
