sphincter repair

Hi one week had posteriur vaginal wall repair and anal sphincter repair. while I 'feeling relatively ok I am having a lot of pain when I need to empty my bowel, and I feel like I constantly nee to go. just wondering if this is a normal part of recovery or should I be taking something like laxatives to keep stool soft.

    Its only been one week. Call your surgeon and ask that question. Eat foods that are easy on your digestion and give your body time to heal.
