Spinal cord stimulator

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had a Boston Scientific spinal cord placed March 19,2018 should I still be feeling pain in my lower back and legs. Also every time I lift bend, twist i can feel the leads in my back like there going to rip out. Not feeling very happy about this. Also I went back to my Dr May 14 told him my symptoms and he said looks like I need a injection. NOT if the first 5 injectors I had didn’t work and got the SCS to help with pain. What makes them think the 6 th injection will work.

i have a stim unit also, i think everyone goes through a trial first. I learned alot of things in this forum about getting one and how to make the most out of my trial. i would tell everyone do the trial its not long, and you will have a good idea if it will work for you or not. now heres the big thing, i love my stim unit, it has helped me, you will read a lot on here about people who have had problems or it didnt work for them. i was scared also. i did give the trial a fair chance and trust me when i say it does help some and those of us it has helped are spending more time outside and doing things we havent done in years because of pain, so we arent on the net as much. i decided to stay and keep up with the forum only because there are a large amount of good results also, and when i was doing my research i was scared to death about the trial. there are some good threads on here on what you should and shouldnt do during the trial to know if its going to work for you or not. The best advice make sure you have a good rep, that is what seems to make the biggest difference

Hello, i have my St. Judes stim placed on march 30th,2018. i still have pain in my lower back and legs, and can still feel some pulling. I talked to the doc and because i had the leads placed instead of the paddles they said some pulling will be normal until a good amount of scar tissue builds. Have you had your rep re-program your unit yet? i have had one re-program already and the doc said to call about every 3 weeks until the programming is right. If you havent had a re-programming it might be a good idea to call the rep and have them see if they can adjust the stim, i have 3 programs on mine right now, no tingle a continuous tingle and one where the tingle cycles. maybe thats an option for you so you can adjust the program to fit your needs at the time. i do agree that if the first 5 injections didnt work why would the 6th, i like you have had so many injections and see no point in them the whole reason i did the stim

wow, i would call and complain, my reps told me they could and would adjust every week if i needed it. i try not to bug them because i know they are very busy and plus i want to give the new program time to work and for me to adjust.

Can you call your rep directly? i know St. Judes gave me numbers of 2 reps that come to my pain management office but i call and set my appts with them directly. My pain doc askes when i have seen the rep and double checks with the office scheduling, but the programming if left completely up to me to decide when i need an adjustment. I know i wouldnt let them try and push me for more injections, i know im still healing also as i am only 2 weeks behind you with getting the unit, i have even gotten follow up calls from the rep after it was put in and after my first programming, Have you thought about calling boston scientific to see what and how they recommend programming be done, im sure they have a help line

Thank you. I’ve been having back pain since 2009 I broke my tail bone in 2009 had a lower lumbar lamonectomy in 2014 now the Boston SCS 2018 . I guess it just needs more time to heal.  But no more injections that not going to happen. The Rep only programed it one time when he turned it on 2 weeks after surgery. I guess I need to make another call.
